7 hours of driving for nothing

I was looking forward to seeing The Buzludzha Monument. After 3 1/2 hours of my driver slamming on the brakes, swerving out of the opposite lane, and jerking the wheel, we arrived in the area of The Buzludzha Monument. We stopped below The Buzludzha Monument to take some pics of the Iron fist monument. I asked if we could go up to The Buzludzha Monument. The guide said he did not know how to get up to the monument. We drove down a road and he said we were going down the hill and that there was no way to go to the top where The Buzludzha Monument was. I knew this couldn't be true, but what could I do. After a 3 1/2 hour drive back to Sofia I looked on Google Earth and saw the road that lead up to the monument. I am so pissed that I wasted 7 hours of my day and over $200 for nothing.

The best guide for a balanced perspective

From doors open to doors closed, Demeter provides a fair and balanced history of every stop along the daylong tour. His command of history is phenomenal, from Neolithic to present times, sequentially building layers of information to arrive at modern day Bulgaria. He provided plenty of rest stops, yet kept the pace interesting and invited thoughtful discussion and exploration. Really, an outstanding experience. Highly recommend!

It was exactly what I...

It was exactly what I expected. Unfortunately the heavy rain made it a long day. Our guide Valerie Grigorov was very accommodating. He’s very knowledgeable.
