The best part of the trip was the bus driver and the air conditioned bus! The worst part was no WiFi so downloading the promised audio guide did not work at all!
Thank you for the kind words about our driver! 😊 Sorry about the audio guide — we recommend downloading the Henri Trip app before departure to avoid any connection issues on site. We'll make sure to communicate this more clearly!
Know that this is transportation to and from Carcassonne. The drop off point in Carcassone in front of the main gate which is much more convenientthan the train station. One person on the tour had planned to take the train, but the train was canceled because of a strike. The audio guide is a download from Henri Trip app which was decent. There is no guide on the bus to comment on points of interest along the way. Also know that getting in to Carcassonne is free, but there is a 20 euro fee to walk on the castle ramparts ect... and you will want to walk on the ramparts.
The bus was comfortable and on time. Driver was good. Only problem was with the audio guide. It changed languages during the tour and I couldn’t get it back into English no matter how many times I clicked English.
The day trip is essentially a bus to and from the entry point into the castle. When you research transit and then cost of the train or a bus you quickly realize this is the best value for money to get to the castle. The duration is appropriate as well given the size of the castle. Make sure to take a water bottle and a snack. Water inside the cost is based on tourist prices. There is a water refilling station inside the paid area. The outer area of the castle is free and the main historical section of the ramparts requires entry fee. Good overall service. Make sure you remember what your bus driver looks like and the bus color. The driver will likely not remember you.
Lots of cobblestone streets. It's hilly. The audio tour is self-guided. My audio app didn't work. That was disappointing.
The medieval city is breathtaking: a journey back in time with its ramparts, cobbled streets and castle. Perfect for a couple getaway, between history and magnificent landscapes. We loved getting lost in the small shops and enjoying a cassoulet on site. A must if you pass through Toulouse! To do again without hesitation, and provide a good pair of shoes to climb the slopes!
Outraged!!! Excursion to Albi today 26th no one showed up. They didn't warn me. I demand reimbursement. I want NRO contact existing and true A calamity! I want urgent response andrepair
Get your Guide did not answer our calls after arriving in Carcassonne on our own. We wanted to be sure to use our paid for tickets and bus back to Toulouse later that day. I called 3 times and they hung up on me every time. When finally my husband got them to respond after getting the staff at the tourist office to make the call for us.They were incredibly vague about direction’s for locating our return bus. It’s white and next to a little train, that was it! There was no little train, and yes it was white but it had huge ads on the sides for ski trip tours! No where on the bus did it say City Tours, Get Your Guide etc! We re lucky to make it back to Toulouse at all.
This excursion is transportation ONLY. It gets you from point A to point B and back again. Others said that you could've taken a train instead. However, you might not be close to where you want to be and that is a waste of time. Wasting time on vacation is a waste of money. This gets you to where you need to go and back.
Great driver, nice place to visit overall it was worth the price. Wonderful buildings and antiquity conserved from 111C . Lots of eateries and public WC’s available which is rare 😜
