Description
A short 45-minute drive from Cartagena you’ll discover El Volcán de Lodo El Totumo (The mud volcano of Totumo). With an approximate elevation of just 20 meters (50 steps to the top), this volcano houses a natural pool of mineral-infused volcanic mud, with an amazing relaxing effect and attributed healing powers of the skin. After climbing up the rustic stairs you’ll view down into the volcanic pit full of dense and smooth volcanic mud that will soon be massaged into your body. You’ll slowly descend into the volcano and enjoy the sensation of gradually covering your body with this therapeutic gift of nature. At this point, an experienced attendant will begin to massage the mud into your body for a truly unique and recommended experience (optional tip). Following your mud bath, you’ll move down towards the water’s edge of an ocean inlet close by.

This was a wonderful experience the tour gurl was super sweet it’s all organized great the people at the Valcano are so nice. Just deff have tip money to give them. It’s their way of living to assist u in the experience. It was an unforgettable moment I don’t regret a thing!!!

Bruce, who was our contact, was wonderful in helping set up your. He was very responsive to our questions. Pick up at our hotel went fine and the best part of the tour was the mud bath and washing after. Quite an experience and well worth doing! Don’t miss the massage while in the mud and the washing after by the local women. The day, however, was long and with a lot of sitting around and waiting, after the mud bath and after the lunch. At times during the waiting it seemed a bit disorganized with little explanations and ultimately the day could have been shortened by several hours.
