My husband, our two teenage daughters, and I took this tour on the last day of an 11 day cruise of northern Europe. This tour was great for my family. We are not early risers and we had to do the EES immigration screening that morning since we were disembarking the next day in Reykjavik. So the late afternoon start time was perfect. A lot of people who had tours at noon or earlier were freaking out because the EES process took so long. Pick up at the cruiseport was quick and easy, we were taken to the Icelandia tour building and got on the actual tour bus there. The tour is fast-paced, not for people who want to dilly dally and linger, but we had just enough time at each stop, the crowds at each spot were lighter since it was late in the day. Our group had Thingvellir National Park to ourselves by the time we got there! We were given time for a light dinner at the Geysirs. Our guide, Lasma, was excellent. Very clear with her instructions and information. Her love of the nature she was showing us was contagious. She was genuinely thrilled to see a rainbow at Gulfoss, for example, though I imagine she has seen it countless times! We knew we were in great hands. We were dropped directly back off at the cruise port. I highly recommend Lasma and this tour!
If you are on a cruise ship and told to meet at Bus Stop #5, must be there at the advised time. A bus will pick you up there, and then taken to a bus terminal to join others in the actual excursion bus. Eddie our driver and Martha took good care of us. Martha was very informative on the ride.
Hershey was an excellent guide, funny informative and punctual!
Hershey was an amazing guide. I love everything about the tour
Our guide Erik was great, multilingual and very knowledgeable about geology, culture, and even did a little Icelandic language lesson for us! His communications around how long we had at each stop and expectations were very clear. Anna, our driver was fantastic, felt very safe with her. The size of the group (full bus) was still small enough so everyone could hear the guide at the sites. The three sites we visited were just long enough to appreciate it all, too bad the sites are so far away, so be advised there is a lot of driving, at least 1 hour 40 min one way and 40 min the other way of your 6.5 hours. But this tour was a fraction of the cost of a very similar one we took in Akureyri from our cruise ship and just as good, so the value is outstanding! Pick up was simple, drop off was very convenient, too. Highly recommend!!
It was an excellent experience, the tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and warm. Highly recommend.
Great trip. Very well-organized. Guide Eric and driver Anna were very punctual, knowledgeable and respectful.
Loved this tour! Our tour guide, Gudjon Jes was awesome. He has so much knowledge and told us so many facts about the country. Loved the Geysir and the Waterfall so much. Unfortunately it was raining when we got to the national park. Our bus driver, Barrek, drove very safely and we were very comfortable on the bus.
It was a great way to see the Golden circle. The history and stories were excellent and the sights were beautiful. Our tour guide, Leifur, was full of knowledge and stories and had a great sense of humour. I would highly recommend this trip.
Gudjon Jes was an excellent and knowledgeable guide and Bartek was an excellent driver. The waterfall was by far our highlight, definitely worth seeing.
