The F Factor: Adelaide food tour

Description
If you are a huge foodie, or want to see Adelaide's culture through local eyes, join the original Adelaide food tour showcasing the city's unique specialties. Suited well for sweet-tooths, this two-hour tour has a local guide detailing the amazing stories of locally made products. You'll taste the city's best chocolate, nuts, and iced coffee, plus oddities we grow up eating in Adelaide: a frog cake and some fritz. Finally, lunch will be provided from within the market at a popular bakery (a meat pie/pasty etc of your choice). Take away a surprise dessert plus extra goodies to continue your Adelaide food journey! *Vegetarians can be catered for; please request this on booking. *Children will receive a flavoured milk or juice instead of iced coffee unless requested otherwise. *Wednesday is an ‘optional’ day for stallholders where about 70% of the market is open, but there's still lots to explore. *If there is only one person booked, we have the right to reschedule or cancel the tour.

Katina is an excellent instructor who adapts the instruction to the type of group (or individuals). The tour is diverse, gives an authentic experience of locals and goes out with a protest belly to zero. Highly recommended!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you love discovering a city through its food and stories, the F Factor Tour with Katina from Flamboyant Tours in Adelaide is an absolute must. Katina is a true local, and what makes this tour so special is how personal it feels. She shares passionate stories about growing up in Adelaide, weaving her childhood memories into every stop. Her mum worked in a café in the arcade and her grandparents had a fruit and vegetable stand at the market, so the history she shares isn’t just something she learned, it’s something she lived. We explored beautiful spots like the historic Adelaide Arcade with delicious tastings at Haigh's Chocolates and Ditters, then continued through City Cross Arcade to visit local favourites like Balfour's Cafe and Charlesworth Nuts. The tour finished at the vibrant Adelaide Central Market, where we tasted incredible treats from Con's Fine Food and Skala Bakery. Every stop had a story — many about family-run businesses that have been beloved Adelaide institutions for over 100 years. Expect lots of sweets, delicious bites, and fascinating local legends along the way. Katina’s warmth, knowledge, and deep personal connection to the city make this tour unforgettable. It’s not just a food tour, it’s a heartfelt journey through Adelaide’s history, culture, and local flavours. Highly recommended! 🍫🥐🥜🍰

Katina was incredible. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you like sweet stuff... She is a true local making us discovering Adelaide through her childhood memories with such passion and pride for the local businesses and pioneers that have marked the past and still continue to be legends in the food history landscape of Adelaide. Flamboyants Tours has tons of different tours too and I will definitely try to do another one with Katina and her team.
We would love to have you back on another tour Nathalie! You were both awesome, I love that you embraced all the foods on offer and I'm glad younappreciated the personal touch. Until next time, Katina
The guide was lovely, engaging and knowledgeable. I had to translate everything to my mum who was with me and the guide was understanding and patient and made sure I had time to do so. She made us feel very welcomed. The food and samples we tried were really nice. The commentary on the local food industry and history was interesting and compelling. It was a great tour that I would definitely recommend if you enjoy discovering local food venues
Thank you Christelle! It was a pleasure hosting you both and I'm glad language wasn't a barrier to enjoying the experience! Thank you for wanting to discover the great stories behind our local foods as much as the tastes. Safe travels, Katina
Fabulous walking tour around Adelaide with Katina - she was an excellent guide! I learnt a lot and sampled some great food. Kat is a fabulous host!!
Thank you! We love knowing that you've walked away with knowledge you didn't expect. It was great hosting you, hope to see you another time on tour! -Katina
Andrea was an excellent guide, she was knowledgeable and very personable. We visited foodie shops we would not have otherwise visited and learnt about some of South Australia's history and food history. The pace suited us, especially considering the hot weather at the time, and there was plenty of time at each stop. We had a great time.
Thank you so much Leanne! It's a cruisy tour where a lot is indoors to escape the hot weather, so we're glad the pace suited you. And Andrea's knowledge is indeed amazing, she loves sharing Adelaide's quirky stories! Hope to see you another time on tour, take care. -Katina
Fabulous food tour. Did a tour with Ollie - great guy, fantastic sense of humour and huge knowledge. Was so interesting to hear of the local produce, try amazing array of food and contextual stories. Later that day we went to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds concert, had a gourmet hamper box, and was able to identify some of the products from the food tour. Made it so fun. Highly recommended. A+
Thanks Richard! We're glad you enjoyed Olly's great sense of humour in what is a fun tour. And the food hamper at the gig sounds awesome, having the context of what these foods are about does make your experience all the richer! Take care, Katina
