Embark on a historical journey that explores the 17th century Malla Kingdom & its magnificent Terracotta temples, and temples that are widely dedicated to the Hindu god, Krishna. What makes these temples unique is their structural design & pure reliance on clay & brick materials. Listen more about such past wonders from your guide.
Enter one of the prominent temples, Malleshwar temple which was built by Bir Singha in 1622. Next up, enter Rasmancha temple which is known for its exquisite Chala-type roof style as well as pyramidal structure. The guide will tell you tales about the tyrannical Malla King who later on converted to Gaudiya Vaishnavism.

Very interesting and unique terracotta temples and an excellent tour guide. It was a long trip - 4 hours each way - due to poor roads and congestion. Good day trip if you have extra time in Kolkota. Surprised admission and lunch weren't included.

It was a great one day excursion by car. The trip was a bit long but seating was comfortable. We were picked up from our hotel by the friendly, experienced driver. The exceptional archaeological sites at Bishnupur were very well presented by our well educated guide. As there was a local festival on the day, there was a lot of traffic and our generous guide offered to take us around the different temples throught the narrow streets with a small local carriage. What a nice sperience. The lunch we had was simple and tasted good. Thank you very much!
