It's a peaceful start that sets a reflective tone for the day. (Note: The Mother's Room is closed on Thursdays)
Dalhousie Square (BBD Bagh): A walk/drive-through tour of this colonial heart of Kolkata. You'll pass by magnificent British-era buildings like the Governor Palace, St. John's Church, Writers' Building, General Post Office, and Currency Building, learning about the city's past as the capital of the British Raj.
St. John’s Church is one of the oldest churches in the city and was built during the days when Kolkata used to be the British capital. This church was the Anglican cathedral from 1815 till 1847 when St. Paul’s Cathedral got that designation.
A short drive brings you to one of Asia's largest and most chaotic flower markets. This is a sensory overload of colors, sounds, and smells. You'll witness the bustling trade of fresh flowers under the iconic Howrah Bridge, a perfect photo opportunity and an authentic slice of Kolkata life.
Take a short walk on the iconic Howrah Bridge, an engineering marvel and one of the busiest cantilever bridges in the world.
Kumartoli, is a traditional potter's quarter in Northern Kolkata. Clay idols are manufactured here for various festival & also export them to other countries.
This is a book lover's paradise and a true intellectual hub of Kolkata. Spend ample time browsing through the countless stalls, where you can find everything from rare old books to new releases. The aural and visual experience of this market is unique and unforgettable. (Note: The book market is closed on Sundays.)
Located right in the heart of College Street, the Indian Coffee House is an iconic institution. It's the perfect place for a lunch break or a coffee. You'll step into a space that has hosted generations of intellectuals, artists, and students, absorbing the old-world charm and intellectual "adda" (chatting) culture. Enjoy your Coffee and snacks.
One of Kolkata's most famous landmarks, this magnificent marble building is a tribute to Queen Victoria. The full-day tour allows you to not only admire its grand exterior and stroll through the gardens but also to potentially visit the museum inside, which houses a vast collection of British-Indian art and artifacts. (Note: The museum is closed on Mondays.)
St. Paul's Cathedral is acknowledged as the first Episcopal Church in Asia. Located near the Victoria Memorial, this Indo-Gothic church is a sight to behold. You can explore its beautifully designed interior, with its stunning stained-glass windows and tranquil ambiance.
Wander through this evocative 18th-century cemetery. This is a fascinating and often eerie stop. It's one of the oldest non-church cemeteries in the world, with impressive colonial-era tombs and mausoleums. The towering Indo-Saracenic tombs and moss-covered obelisks tell the poignant stories of the early Britishers who lived and worked in the city.
Prinsep Ghat is a beautiful riverside promenade in Kolkata. It is a popular spot for picnics, boat rides, and relaxing walks along the Hooghly River.

We booked a one-day sightseeing tour in Kolkata with all the main highlights in mind, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Muzaffar was an outstanding guide who brought this beautiful city to life for us. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, and his deep knowledge of Kolkata’s history and culture truly impressed us. What made the experience especially memorable was how Muzaffar and his driver tailored the day to our interests, particularly our love for people and photography. It felt much more personal than a typical sightseeing tour; rather than just ticking off landmarks, we experienced the city from unique and meaningful perspectives. We felt completely comfortable and well taken care of throughout the day, with safe and smooth transportation thanks to the careful and mindful driver. We highly recommend Muzaffar to anyone looking to explore Kolkata in an authentic, engaging, and insightful way. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience! Best wishes, Thomas & Julia

This was an excellent tour and Muzaffar was an excelkent guide. The tour lasted 6 hours and we visited all of the main sites as well as some that we would never have seen by ourselves. Muzaffar brought to life the history and context of the sites we visited in a way that no guide book can match.
Dear Mr. Trevor Drew, Thank you so much for the kind words! It is truly rewarding to hear that the 6-hour journey provided a deeper look into the city than a standard guidebook could offer. I take great pride in sharing the "hidden gems" and the rich historical context that make this region so unique. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you and Mrs. Elaine, and showing you around. We are thrilled that the experience left such a lasting impression. Safe travels, and hope to see you again for another exploration! We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you again soon. Take care & stay blessed! Best regards, Muzaffar Khan Tour de Kolkata
This was my third formal tour of Kolkata and I wanted to replicate the best one for a group of friends this Spring. Muzaffar was our guide and he was very happy to customize our stops and expertly share history and stories along the way. We had coffee together and went to the BEST lunch during the day. I also asked Muzaffar to arrange a private sunset boat cruise and that was magnificent! He became our local expert while here and even joined part of our team on an early morning trip back to the Howrah bridge to watch a local wrestling match and have breakfast. He is now a friend I have referred to others and I will definitely be using his services each time I return!
Dear Kasey, Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I truly enjoyed customizing the day for your group—from the history at the bridge to that sunset cruise, which was a highlight for me too! I booked the tour and Muzaffar contacted me. On 25/02 , the day of the tour he reached before the stipulated time. We were warmly welcomed and the tour started. He was very much looking after our comfort and all the sightseeing and especially the flower market and Victoria memorial were amazing. We actually got a lot of knowledge about origins of modern Kolkata and how it shaped up over 300 years. At every stage we were guided and helped with busy road crossings. The Indian Coffee house and Rossogulla origin place were a highlight. I would strongly recommend this tour.
