We begin our journey with a taste of chorreadas, a traditional Costa Rican corn "poured" tortilla served fresh from a street vendor. It’s the perfect introduction to the flavors of the region.
Our next stop features the iconic caldosa, a unique blend of crunchy corn chips topped with Costa Rican ceviche. This classic street dish is a must-try!
Take in the beauty of Jacó as we stroll along the beach, marveling at vibrant murals and public art in the area. This stop allows us to soak up the natural and cultural scenery.
On Thursdays, we’ll visit the local farmers’ market, where you can explore fresh produce, artisan goods, and the vibrant atmosphere of Jacó’s community life.
After the stroll we will stop on another vendor to enjoy a chiliguaro—a fiery Costa Rican shot made with local moonshine, chile, and Tabasco.
Relax at a charming, locally owned beachfront restaurant. Here, we’ll savor refreshing drinks and seafood dishes made with the freshest local catch.
For those who can’t get enough of this bold Costa Rican beverage, we will make a second stop for a different twist on the chiliguaro.
At a favorite local bar, we’ll sip on a classic Michelada—a refreshing beer-based drink—and enjoy a hearty chifrijo, a flavorful mix of chicharrones (crispy pork) and frijoles (beans).
We end on a sweet note with a visit to a beloved dessert vendor for Churchill, a Costa Rican ice cream treat featuring layers of condensed milk, shaved ice, and fruit toppings.
Throughout the tour, I’ll share insights into Jacó’s geography, history, culture, and art, as well as personal anecdotes and stories about the town. Along the route, I’ll highlight public art, important buildings, authentic restaurants, and the best gift shops for unique, locally crafted souvenirs.

I had such a wonderful with the guide Josue. He is very knowledgeable of local Jaco history, culture and the food. I learned so much about the cuisine and history while i was on this food tour with Josue. The foods are so tasty as well! I won’t be able to discovery those dishes on my own if it’s not for Josue. Josue is very friendly and approachable. I can tell he really enjoys touring and guiding people and teaching Jaco history. The portion of the food/drinks are perfect. Highly recommend this if you are in Jaco. Come hungry!

Josue is absolutely amazing! He really has a way of bringing strangers together for a great cultural experience. The food was amazing, but nothing will ever compare to the quality of the Ceviche; I’m still thinking about it lol! You can tell the locals really love and respect him and I would expect nothing more for such an amazing soul! I’ll be back and this will definitely be on my list!

From beginning to end Josue was very informative, accommodating, charismatic, passionate about Costa Rica and its many offerings. He communicated well before the tour to check in as well and had umbrellas for anyone who needed one as it was a very rainy day. That didn’t stop the tour at all. He really cared that all of us were having a great time and enjoying trying new things. We even did a side stop in another store for some shopping and he pointed out other great stops to try while in Jaco. Everything we ate and drank on the tour was delicious and had a story behind it. Josue is a fantastic guide, storyteller, really so good at keeping our interest and time management. I highly recommend this tour when visiting Jaco!

One of my favorite food tours! Josue is so knowledgeableand a really great guide. Traveling solo, I was able to experience the local food, learn the history and felt completely safe.
