Tangential Cambridge: Group Walking Tour of Sights and Highlights

Description
I tailor each tour to the individual interests of the tourists in the group. I am fascinated by Cambridge's history and its magnificent sights, and have in-depth knowledge of its past and present. I can draw on my special expertise in the history of science, mathematics, and computing in Cambridge. My approach is thorough yet not too serious, sometimes light-hearted and always considerate. We shall explore the very heart of Cambridge, where new and old look out at us from every nook and cranny – hear stories of mediaeval strife and riots, struggles and labours of many a generation of students and scholars, and triumphs of the human thought. On our way, we shall discuss how ideas and life itself have changed over centuries, and what today’s Cambridge is like – both the City and the University.

Tanya is a good storyteller, making history come alive. I learned a lot and the new knowledge enabled me to have a much deeper appreciation for the streets isnd buildings and people who once lived there.
The tour didn't happen so I unfortunately had a wasted morning. When the guide didn't show up I called the Company and they very apologetic and sent me a refund straight away. Seems they had an admin problem.
Dear Loretta, I am really sorry for your unsatisfactory experience. We care very about our travellers and do our best to tailor our tours to their interests and requirements. The mis-timing was a result of a most unfortunate human error. I shall ensure that it won't happen again. Meanwhile, if you are ever back in Cambridge, we'd be delighted to offer you a free tour of the city - please don't hesitate to get in touch
Our tour with Tanya was the perfect way to start our time in Cambridge. Despite the cold and rain spirits were kept high and so many interesting places visited and stories told. The visit to the Eagle pub at the end was the cherry on the cake. Thank you, Tanya.
Thank you very much for your great review - it was a pleasure, and I am delighted that enjoyed our tour!
We had an amazing private tour in Cambridge with a group of 14 (a mix of adults and teenagers), and our guide was absolutely brilliant! We wanted to learn about the city, its history, and especially the colleges and university life — and this tour exceeded all expectations. What made it truly special was how attentive our guide was to the needs of the whole group. She adjusted the tour so the teenagers stayed engaged the entire time — something not every guide is willing or able to do. She combined historical facts, scientific stories, and fun facts in such a natural, entertaining way that both adults and teens loved it. Our teenagers summed it up perfectly: “We were expecting it to be like a regular boring tour, but it turned out to be really fun! I learned sooo many interesting facts and didn’t even pick up my phone except to take photos of the uni!” We couldn't recommend this guide more highly — knowledgeable, engaging, and truly thoughtful. If you’re visiting Cambridge, this is exactly the kind of tour you want.
