Beitou Hot Spring Museum (Closed on Mondays) Duration: ~1 hours Beitou Hot Spring Museum: Start your day with a visit to this historical site, which used to be a public bathhouse during the Japanese colonial period. Learn about the history and culture of Taiwan's hot springs here.
Thermal Valley: (Closed on Mondays) Also known as "Hell Valley," this natural hot spring is one of the sources of Beitou's hot springs. Admire the steam rising from the emerald green water, creating a unique and mystical atmosphere.
Yangmingshan National Park (Qingtiangang Grassland, Lengshuikeng Trail, Xiaoyoukeng) Duration: ~3.5 hours Yangmingshan National Park is located in the north of Beitou. Yangmingshan was called Caoshan (Grass Mountain) during Japanese occupation of Taiwan, because it was covered with grass and seldom visited. After World War II, the KMT government renamed the mountain Yangmingshan and built a park here. Yangmingshan National Park is the only park in Taiwan that has volcanic geography and hot springs. It is next to Shamao Mountain and Qixing Mountain with Datun Mountain on the right and Guanyin Mountain in front.
Qingtiangang Grassland: A scenic spot known for its wide-open grassy plains and grazing cattle. Perfect for a leisurely stroll with stunning views of the mountains.
Lengshuikeng Trail: A relatively easy walking trail that takes you through geothermal areas with hot spring water streams. It’s known for the cooler spring water.
Xiaoyoukeng: This area showcases the volcanic activity in Yangmingshan. You'll find fumaroles (steam vents), sulfur crystals, and boiling mud pots.
Fort Santo Domingo: A historic fort built by the Spanish in the 17th century and later used by the Dutch and British. Explore its colonial architecture and enjoy a panoramic view of historical
Fisherman’s Wharf: Known for its picturesque sunset views, the wharf is home to the Lover's Bridge, a white suspension bridge that lights up beautifully at night.
Tamsui Old Street: A bustling street filled with traditional Taiwanese snacks, street food, and souvenir shops. Enjoy a leisurely walk and try famous snacks like iron eggs and fish ball soup.

Bookings made less than 72 hours before the tour may not be guaranteed. To secure your preferred time slot, we encourage early booking. 4. Driver Assistance 4.1 Please note that our driver has basic English communication skills. To ensure smooth communication during your service, a translation tool or device may be used as needed. They will assist you throughout the tour, help with photography, recommend restaurants, and provide support at ticket-free destinations to make your experience enjoyable and memorable. 5. Inclusions and Exclusions 5.1 The quoted price covers car rental with a driver, fuel, toll fees, parking fees, and the driver’s meals. 5.2 Please note that customer meals and entry fees to attractions are not included in the quoted price. This was such a fantastic day trip where we really got to enjoy some of Taiwan’s nature. The highlight was the circular trail at Yangmingshan Grassland. The thermal valley and Tamsui were also lovely. All in all a great day and thanks to our driver Tony, he was excellent.

We enjoyed the tour very much as we got to see natural wonders of Taiwan. We had a 13 year old in our group and he also appreciated the tour. Kidd was our driver and he was very helpful and happy to tell us about the sites, even if at times we had to use a translator app due to his limited English. Just the same, we truly enjoyed our day tour with him!

Overall it was an amazing tour! The beauty of Taiwan’s countryside was just breathtaking. Kidd was our guide. He was very friendly and helpful to us, though for long conversations, we had to use (Google?) translator. But nevertheless, we really had one great day enjoyinh Taiwan’s nature places.

Our private driver Charlie was very flexible and polite. He spoke limited English and all communication was via translation apps (so not very much explanation of the locations or history, and more like hiring a private driver). He was punctual, very polite and accommodating and an extremely safe driver. Overall a good experience.
