Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide

Description
Teide National Park is one of the best places to admire the sunset in Tenerife. In 2013, Teide National Park was declared a Starlight Tourist Destination and Starlight Reserve by the Starlight Foundation and since then the number of tourists interested in astronomy has grown, making Tenerife a popular destination for astronomers worldwide. The low light pollution inside Teide National Park (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is what makes it the perfect place for stargazing in Tenerife, as here you're almost guaranteed great night sky conditions, which will allow you to observe varios stars and constellations. Tenerife has a special law in place in order to protect these pristine star-watching conditions inside Teide National Park, by controlling the flight routes and limiting the light pollution inside the park. At an altitude of 2000 meters, we will discover the constellations designed by our ancestors and their brightest stars. Also we will be using very powerful telescopes.

Neat on time, super friendly and enthusiastic guide, spoke several languages. The food was nice provincial in a nice place, then on to the mighty beautiful sunset and at more than 2000 meters at a hotel were hefty and very professional stargazer lined up. After an extensive story about the stars with laser pointer it got dark and we looked out of our eyes !!!! Really very rewarding. Thank you Ozzy for your enthusiasm, passion and humor.
Tenerife stars. Ozzy who ran our tour was absolutely amazing and the sites were spectacular! He was very knowledgeable about the stars and really comical and very friendly. He made the trip amazing along with the team.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you had such an amazing experience and that Ozzy helped make the evening so memorable. His knowledge of the night sky, great sense of humor, and friendly personality really do make every tour special. We'll be sure to share your kind words with Ozzy and the rest of the team. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another spectacular adventure soon!
Too many people on this trip, picks ups around resort took ages, food ok, telescopes had to be set up when we got there then 2 ended up not working. Cloudy night and not well organised to make up for that.
Not many people on the excursion. What is many people? 10, 20, 30? This is an opinion. All the telescopes are working properly. Probably you have been joining a different excursion. We never had any problems with any of the telescopes. Check your comments and please comment on the right organisation.
Amazing views and our tour guide Ozzy was extremely knowledgable. The stargazing experience was something I’ll never forget.
Ozzy only gave us 50% refund it cost €249 go with a company called Night Sky’s instead we revoked with then and they were amazing
You should be glad we gave you 50% back. In reality you should not get anything back. You were very disrespectful and you did not even experience our excursion. People who did experience our excursion love it and you can see the great feedback we have. You were making racist comments on the bus against the guide. Shame on you. People like yourself are not appreciated and not welcome to join our excursion.
Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. We had booked an excursion to Mount Teide with bus transport, a visit at high altitude and stargazing. In the early afternoon we receive a message informing us that the withdrawal would be brought forward because Teide would be closed from 6 pm due to the risk of fire (official communication on the website of the body). After half an hour they reassure us saying that “everything is fine” and that the excursion will take place as planned, with pick-up at 5pm. After a stop for dinner, we arrive at Teide at 20:30... and the police block our access, confirming that it was closed as announced. The guide/organization claimed it was a “surprise closure”, but this is false: the closure was officially published hours before and we had verified it. The result: no high-altitude visits, no astronomical observations, and a feeling of being teased. I strongly advise against this agency: poor communication, no transparency and total lack of respect for time.
Activity “sunset and discovery of the stars at Teide” in halftone. The site is absolutely beautiful, the sunset splendid, and the place deserves a visit. However, several elements spoiled the experience a bit. We had booked for a departure at 5pm, but the day before we received a message shifting the time to 6pm, without explanation. At 6:15, there's still no bus. Fortunately, another vehicle stopped to pick up a couple and allowed us to get on board. a big thank you to Pablo for his responsiveness. The meal was simple but good, quickly shipped so as not to miss sunset. On site, the view was breathtaking, although the photos were of course... paid. The guide of this part was friendly, funny, and set a good Mood. The last part, stargazing, was less successful. The guide Jean-Marc spoke almost all evening in Italian, which left very little room for explanations in French. his explanations very theoretical, and many participants quickly lost interest. It was a pity, because the place was more contemplative. Personally, I would have preferred a deckchair, a little soft music, and just enjoy the sky in silence. An activity with enormous potential, but which would benefit from being better balanced between scientific content and pleasure of the moment.
A great experience, very nice guides. Good organization, everything wonderfully explained and very funny and interesting brought to the participants.
Ozzi entertained us well, he speaks so many languages, my hard drive would burn out 😆. At sunset we had a bit of bad luck as little cloud formation due to the Sahara Sand phenomenon Carima. But the stargazing is exciting. The caldera at night without light pollution, with the whole star firmament like Milky Way and planets of our solar system including great laser show, picked everyone up. The only minus point that pictures should cost again extra, but they are worth it.
Very nice experience, thanks to the driver who assured on the mountain roads. Thanks also to the 2 very invested and passionate facilitators: Ozie for the organization, for his explanations and humor and Jean-Marc bravo for the explanations in Italian and French, not easy to juggle from one to the other
