Itinerary
The tour starts with an amazing view of the Hollywood Hills and Sunset Blvd as we dive into the overall history of how the Sunset Strip developed from a dirt road used by farmers to the world famous street it is today! From this view, we will also dive into notorious Wonderland Murders!
If the walls could talk in any building in the world, you'd talk to the Chateau Marmont. Full of celebrity secrets and haunted by a dark past, the Chateau Marmont is a notorious celebrity hangout where the parties can end in tragedy. From Lindsay Lohan to John Belushi, we will discuss some of the more famous and lesser known stories of the Chateau Marmont. To end our discussion, I'll fill you in on some of the paranormal occurrences that have been reported at the hotel.
The pandemic spelled the end of the Cabo Cantina, but you'll learn about the wild cult that occupied the restaurant in the 1970's and the dangers of hang-gliding!
This little dog park hides the oldest building left on the Sunset Strip. But, we aren't here to discuss cute dogs! Looming above the park, is the Sunset Tower; an art deco masterpiece where mobsters and movie stars lived and drank together. Here, we will dive into mobster "Bugsy" Siegel's time in LA.
The biggest names in comedy all cover the exterior of the Comedy Store. On any given night, you could see superstar comedians trying new jokes or discover a comic to watch. But what was here before the store? And do the violent actions of the past carry on today? Let's find out!
Today, Sunset Plaza is known for the real estate offices of the Oppenheim Group, the stars of the Netflix show "Selling Sunset". A hundred years ago, Sunset Plaza was just being developed and was still surrounded by oranges and lima beans. Over the next century, movie stars and mobsters would run bars, clubs, gambling dens, commit insurance fraud, blow up buildings, and go home with a frozen steak over a black eye after getting too rowdy in the nearby celebrity apartments.
Our most murder filled true crime tour ends by the Viper Room to remember River Phoenix and to discuss the dangers (and allure) of the Hollywood lifestyle!

Tour guide was fantastic! The tour was well researched and delivered excellently. Great way to see the strip and learn about cool spooky history.
Our guide, Chris is a master storyteller. This guy should be on the Travel Channel. Don’t sleep on this tour. It’s a must do!
Thank you so much for leaving such a nice review! I have never been on the travel channel, but I have led tours for KTLA, Spectrum News 1, and NHK Japan. Hopefully, Ill get a chance to be on TC someday soon!
Great tour! We loved it! If you’re in LA it’s a must!
Don't hesitate to book this tour. Chris was extremely knowledgeable, had great stories, and made the experience so much fun. 10/10.
Chris is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable with lots of inside “tea” on the unsavory characters of the sunset strip . I highly recommend this tour
There's so many unsavory characters to talk about! Thank you for recommending the tour and taking the time to dive deep into the real history of LA!
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept every bit of our attention. The stories were interesting and he made sure to add plenty of humor keeping the experience light despite the dark content.
Born and raised Angelina and saw some views and heard some stories. I never knew. It was a fun night with a very informative guide. The stories were varied and interesting with the exception of an occasional fly by police helicopter or gunning engine on the street, heard everything and loved it.
Thank you so much for leaving this review! LA is a loud place between all the cars, people, helicopters, etc... I am glad you could still hear and enjoyed what you heard!
Chris had a lot of really interesting stories and was clearly very passionate it was fun and spooky to see all the sites.
Thank you for taking the tour of the Sunset Strip!
I met up with Chris and a small group on a chilly night to walk the Sunset Strip and learn about its sordid history. I knew the gist of many of the stories, which focused on serial killers, mafia lore, celebrity residences, overdose deaths, and some paranormal encounters. But what made the tour great - and Chris a great tour guide - was his "extra" knowledge provided between the stories. He was able to respond in-depth to questions, provide local recommendations, and was also knowledgeable in architecture. This was a well-rounded and entertaining experience, and, like the best tours of this sort, benefited from the guide's distinct sense of humor, in addition to his expertise.
Chris is fantastic! We have done multiple tours around the world and the experience depends almost entirely on the guide. Chris was "best of the best". He is a fantastic storyteller and weaves history, culture and trivia into his tales. Personally, I'm not a true crime fan, but my daughter is and we surprised her for her birthday. She loved it! She is mature so could handle the graphic nature of the tour (Chris might have toned down a few parts), but this is certainly not a kid-friendly tour (but that should be pretty obvious). Highly recommended! (Oh, I also appreciate that Chris did not pull the manipulative move that many tour guides do now where they ask how the tour was and ask you to write a review while hovering over you. It appears that all the stellar reviews are—like this one—genuine).
A review under duress isn't a true review! I always focus on making sure the guest gets what they paid for. If you do that, I find that the good reviews come naturally! Thank you so much for taking the tour, it really means a lot that you would put me up there with the best tour guides you've met!
