Street Food Tour in Melbourne's Inner North

Description
Escape the tourists in the CBD and explore Melbourne's most popular suburbs. Cafe culture in Melbourne is no secret! With so many choices it's impossible to explore all of the offerings in just a short visit. Unless you explore with a local. This tour provides a unique experience, covering many of the highlights in just 3 hours. Exploring with a small group allows you to have enough room in your stomach to try a small taste from my each of my favourites. Facilitated by your local guide, you will spend more time eating and less time waiting in line. This tour covers close to 7km. While we take several rests, appropriate walking shoes are encouraged.

Itinerary
First, we will stop for coffee and get to know each other. With so many fantastic offerings you will be taken to one of the best.
Next we will stop for one of Fitzroy's many famous sandwiches. I know eating a sandwich doesn't sound like destination food, just wait and see how busy these shops are
To make room for more food we will need to walk! Over the next 15 minutes we will through some of the best streets in the area with time to stop and explore along the way. These sections of the tour visits a local vegan deli, ice creamery and on Saturdays hot sauce tastings
In Collingwood we will stop at Melbourne's most impressive vegan restaurant, a local bakery, bookstore and sample a variety of cheesecakes
We will return to Fitzroy for the end of our tour, this will include tacos and a drink with Melbourne's best view

Thanks to Lorraine we had a great morning walking thru Fitzroy and Collingwood. We enjoyed the diversity of the food. We went home happy and full! Thanks again Lorraine for a wonderful day! Sharon Hillier
This foodie tour was brilliant. Lorraine was very knowledgeable about all cultures and cuisines that are often well hidden and unassuming until you try them. The was plenty of different foods to sample and enjoy along the way with lots of tips on other places to try when we come back to the area. (And we will) highly recommend this tour if you want to enjoy low profile but high quality in a local community vibe.
I recently joined the Street Food Tour in Melbourne’s Inner North and had such a great time exploring Fitzroy’s food and culture. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, giving great context about each stop while also sharing stories about the area’s history and community vibe. The variety of food was excellent — plenty of flavours that really showcased Melbourne’s multicultural side — and the pacing meant you could enjoy each stop without feeling rushed or overstuffed. Overall it’s a fantastic way to discover hidden gems and eat like a local. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience Melbourne through its food and laneways.
Had a great time walking around Collingwood and Fitzroy tasting some hidden food gems with a great local guide. Great way to see the local area whilst enjoying both sweet and savoury delights. Recommend for anyone looking to discover inner Melbourne and local food.
We had a great time with Joe and Lorraine our excellent tour guides. It was really interesting to see local neighbourhoods outside Melbourne CBD and experience some great food including a legendary Melbourne sando, cheesecake, tacos, savoury donuts, a hot sauce tasting, and a lemon bun from the ‘world’s best’ croissant shop. We thoroughly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to enjoy Melbourne like a local. A word of advice - go feeling hungry and enjoy!
Joe was a fabulous host. This tour had perfect amount of food to walking ratio. Serving sizes were large and was a great range of food types. Joe was able to amend the plan on the go based on how the group was feeling and our preferences. While it was a long walk we didn’t feel rushed or as if we were on a massive hike. Highly recommended.
Is a great way to see the city and meet new people, the tour guid had a good knowledge of Melbourne. And food was great
A delightful way to spend a morning in Fitzroy and Collingwood walking around the neighborhoods and trying a large variety of tasty bites! Luckily I had my backpack so I could save some for later. Lorraine was a great guide and very well-organized by pre-ordering items at some of the more popular spots. She also asked for our input of sweet vs savory which was well appreciated and the balance was perfect! As a solo traveller it was wonderful to be able to share with others so I could try more! I highly recommend.
Joe took us on a very interesting walking tour through a historc area I'm not familiar with. We stopped to taste lots of delicious food, both savoury and sweet, and iconic coffee, while Joe told us about the places we walked through. Full of interesting tastes and sights.
