Wander through bustling streets and hidden local spots as you sample an array of authentic flavors, from sizzling anticuchos (grilled skewers) to freshly made creole churros and tamal. Led by a passionate local foodie, you’ll explore Lima's largest market, meet friendly vendors, and learn the cultural significance of each dish. Along the way, you will also be able to spot iconic landmarks such as Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral of Lima, the Government Palace and the San Francisco Basilica. Come hungry, leave full, and take home a taste of Lima’s incredible food culture!

We will start this tour at the front door of Gran Hotel Bolivar, facing Plaza San Martin, with some sightseeing, before going to a local bar where we will have tamal accompanied by emoliente and a shot of pisco

See the Basilica San Francisco from the outside
One can't go to the Historic Center without taking some pictures of the Plaza de Armas and its surroundings. Simply beautiful.

- We ask you to provide your passport number and date of entry to Peru before the tour for all the tour participants (through an online form). Sending this information allow us to exonerate you from the 18% local tax as it confirms you're a foreign, and not living in the country. If you want to be exonerated from the tax, it's really important to send us your passport number and date of entry at least 1 day before the tour. You don't need to bring your passport to the tour.
- Minimum drinking age is 18 years
- Please note guides will not be providing their service in multiple languages simultaneously. Make sure you book the correct tour/language.
- Pick up and drop off is not included for Group tours. Private tours with transportation available on the Exquisito Perú website.
- We won't wait for latecomers more than 5 mins past the tour start time.
- We cannot accommodate the menu to pescatarians, vegetarians nor vegans.
- If you have a severe gluten or nuts allergy, please do not book this tour as some foods included in the tour can contain traces.

Marcos is a wonderful guide. I tried and enjoyed different types of local food I would not even have known about on my own. Not only did he introduce me to street food and the fascinating market, he talked about the local history and architecture. It is obvious he loves where he lives.

This was a great combination of history and local food tasting. Way beyond ice cream and churros. You get to visit a few local restaurants as well as a street vendor and food market. Our guide Paola was fantastic.
Fantastic tour that combines a historical walking tour with both iconic dishes and local favorites. We were well fed with lots of different foods with good portions. The guide shared the history of all the different foods and beverages as well as the buildings/areas we walked by. We also got to stop in two beautiful churches which I was grateful for as an art lover.

very informative tour. learned a lot about the city in addition to the food we got to try — of which there was a great variety. i kind of wish there was more food but my friends did not feel the same and i didn’t have lunch so probably just me. another couple in our group went to the same 4:30pm tour having just had lunch two hours ago and were able to eat all the food so do with that information what you will. overall i had a great time. our guide paola was very knowledge, kind, and funny.

Paola deserves a raise and a promotion!! She guided us through the city thoughtfully and we got lots of great food. We literally walked around and did site seeing for 4 hours. It was a great value. Food is included although it’s pretty small portions. I wasn’t really full or hungry afterward. It was a lot of walking. At least 10k steps. And there was a lot of site seeing and history beyond just eating such as stopping by various churches and plazas
