If you’re staying in Ko Olina and looking for something a little different, this is a very cool evening experience. Our teens enjoyed it a lot! The clouds threatened to postpone it, but they cleared enough to allow us to see the Southern Cross and the Big Dipper which is something you can only see in Hawaii. We learned (and saw) a lot!
Mahalo! Keep reaching for the rising star!
This was one of the coolest experiences we had on our trip to Hawaii. The astronomer was so interesting and answered all our questions. He had two really powerful telescopes that we were able to look through as well as images on his laptop. He had a laser pointer to show all the constellations with. We even saw a shooting star! Highly recommend.
Mahalo. Keep reaching for the rising stars!
Greg was AMAZING! He was very patient when the kids asked questions (ages 10 and 15). We got the pictures the next day and they were FANTASTIC! It was a GREAT EXPERIENCE and would recommend this to anyone. 100/10!
Mahalo. Keep reaching for the stars!
Had a great time with the whole family! Got to see so many things: stars, galaxies, the moon (incredible!). Greg was really informative and his enthusiasm was infectious. Love that we got photos of what we saw afterwards. Highly recommend.
Mahalo! Keep reaching for the stars!
Our astronomer Greg was awesome. He was super knowledgeable and clearly excited about the field. He talked about the difference between the Hawaii sky and our skies at home and shared other cool facts about the stars and nebula.
Mahalo. Keep reaching for the stars!
Our presenter was very knowledgeable and friendly. We loved getting the photos after the show. We learned so much from the presentation and enjoyed seeing the stars from a different location than our home skies.
Mahalo. Keep reaching for the stars!
The tour was canceled because of weather. We had already traveled to the site so it was disappointing.
Thanks for the weather review. We were disappointed as well. Free show next time for you. Keep looking up! More stars are out there!
A very interesting hour with some really good views of planets, stars and nebulae, with enthusiastic explanations from the expert host. He coped well with some cloud cover, switching around quickly for clear views. Lovely views of Saturn including the rings. Should be getting some digital pics of what we saw as a follow up which would be really nice (Vega and Saturn would top the list)
Mahalo. Keep reaching for the stars!
I’m giving this five stars despite the weather being against us TWICE! The organizer communicated as early as possible when the weather projected clouds for our first reservation and reserved our reschedule with no effort on our part. When clouds rolled in unexpectedly during the tour he adapted as best he could, gave us a few great views, and still gave us a full refund. He even recommended some things to do in the area so we didn’t feel our drive over was wasted. It is a small group allowing for a personal touch, unique amid a lot of crowded heavily-managed tourist experiences. The presenter also had a great rapport with the younger attendees, so this would be great for older kids with an interest in space. If you’re willing to allow for the vagaries of weather I highly recommend this.
Mahalo! Keep reaching for the stars!!
it was cool overall but i got bored. maybe you just have to be more into astrology. the only part i thoroughly enjoyed seeing was the moon and saturn.
Mahalo. Keep reaching for the rising star !
