We highly recommend booking this cooking event with Claudia. It was intimate - just the two of us so we had the opportunity to ask questions and learn a lot. (The event is booked for a couple, a family or group of friends - you are not in a large group or with strangers). Claudia grew up in Spoleto and is Spoleto’s Cesarine’s cooking teacher. We had a short tour of Spoleto that was full of local and personal insights, including shopping at the local markets, and then we were hosted at Claudia’s home to learn to make a traditional family feast. Claudia was a great teacher but the highlight was that we loved sharing the meal with her and her husband, Francesco. Talking, sharing food and our cultures made this event the highlight of our visit to Italy.
What a lovely day with Claudia and her husband! A little sightseeing and shopping and then a fantastic lunch in their charming home. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully prepared. I can’t wait to incorporate some of her culinary tips into my cooking at home. Such hospitality is unsurpassed.
We spent a wonderful morning learning from Claudia and enjoying her and her husband, Francesco's, delightful hospitality. We met opposite our hotel and then went for a wander through Spoleto stopping at various food shops to pick up the freshest ingredients and wine for our lunch. Claudia also took us to the Duomo to admire the frescoes and the hand written letter from St Francis of Assisi. Then it was off to Claudia and Francesco's home in the countryside for pasta making lesson in her well equipped and laid out kitchen. Claudia's teaching is clear and straightforward and the strangozzi and various bruschettas were soon made. Then we sat down for lunch with Claudia and Francesco to devour the fruits of our labours and to learn more about the food, history and culture of Umbria. It was a super enjoyable introduction to our holiday and an experience not to be missed. Thanks so much Claudia
Oh, you all, The most authentic tourist experience ever. Genuine, decent, talented, resourceful people. The best "tour" either of us has ever enjoyed in a combined 150+ years.
Really enjoyed the walk around town and learning some history about the city. The cooking class was amazing. Looking forward to using our new skills at home.
The walk through Spoleto was very nice. Claudia could tell us a lot. The cooking course at her house was well organized and very pleasant. She and her husband have received us very welcoming. Claudia is a very good cook and we had a great meal. We also learned a lot about life in Umbria. Our children of 17 also thought it was a very successful day.
