1 hour Daintree River wildlife and crocodile cruise on the only solar electric boat on the Daintree river. The boat it is nice and quiet and there are no petrol fumes or exhaust , it is also good for getting close to the wildlife without disturbing it. We aim to treat this fragile ecosystem with respect and have minimal impact, our boat does not create a wake so we do not erode the mangroves. We are the only boat with "Croc Cam"; a digital video with a very good zoom for showing hard to see animals on a big screen. Wildlife includes Salt Water Crocodiles, snakes, frogs, and birds and also interpretation of the mangrove environment. The business is locally family owned and operated and has been going since 2002. We offer a unique eco experience with minimal impact; see, hear and smell nature at its best. We also offer longer two or three hour cruises by bookings only, maximum 10 people great for photography or those that want a longer more personalised tour.

Cruise the Daintree River (Julaymba) spotting wildlife on a quiet clean solar electric boat "Solar Whisper". Get closer to nature....hear, smell & experience without noise and fumes. Know that you have enjoyed seeing crocodiles & other wildlife without having any impact on it. We have to only solar assisted boat on the Daintree river. We have a 99% success rate* for spotting crocodiles, excellent birding opportunities and other wildlife possibilities such as snakes, frogs, crabs and fish. Your experienced interpretive guide is accustomed to the nuances of the river, rain-forest and mangroves and can spot an incredible variety of wildlife that you would not necessarily see on your own. The boat is fitted with the unique "CROC CAM" to help show well camouflaged crocodiles & wildlife. Due to the unpredictable nature of wildlife if you miss out on seeing a crocodile you can come again for free.

Excellent hour spent on the water with the excellent David driving and providing commentary. Got us close enough to crocs to get some decent pics. Would have loved to spend a little longer on the river but two hour trip was not available! Excellent boat, host and commentary. Well done. Hope to get back soon.
The best authentic tour going loved it all Great to see David back with his wonderful boat. The information was interesting and delivered with passion and real life experiences. There were so many crocs out on our tour - I been at different seasons throughout the years and even when I didn’t see a croc the Daintree is majestic and the Solar whisper boat is so quiet which makes it very serene.Seeing Scareface was a highlight ❤️
The tour was just amazing and our tour guide Mark was even more! We got to see at least 4 massive crocodiles in their environment and it was impressive. Mark was super nice in every moment and we learnt a lot about these big fellows. Thanks for the experience!

A truly great experience. Experiencing crocodiles in the wild is something completely different than in a zoo or at a station. The guide took a lot of time to convey exciting, entertaining, and informative content about the crocodiles on-site and to show us as many as possible. We saw several. We felt safe throughout the entire time. For us as a family, it was unforgettable. Therefore, I would recommend the tour without reservation.
We had a great time on the river. We saw numerous Crocs including Mo and Scarface. At different times they were partially submerged and at the end Mo was fully visible as he enjoyed the sun. We also saw snakes and several kinds of birds. Our boat was full and still comfortable with everyone getting good views. Our guide was passionate, professional and provided a wonderful running commentary. I learned a lot about Salties! I would highly recommend Solar Whispers.
Fantastic tour. Our guide knew each crocodile by name and their stories. Had lots of opportunities for photos and saw 6 different crocs in one hour! Also saw lots of birds. Everything we had hoped for.
Fabulous experience, river was very low so could not go as far up river as normal. This didn’t matter as Dave our guide showed us plenty of crocs and close up encounters with the beautiful bird life, as well as a wealth of very interesting knowledge! We would highly recommend this tour, it was a highlight on our trip up north😊
Fantastic tour with Solar Whisper! The electric boat made the experience much more personable, because you could hear the guide without a megaphone or speaker, as well as notice anything the other guests were pointing out. The guide was impressive with his knowledge of the river and the croc residents - we were lucky enough to see 4 adults and 2 juveniles. He pointed out some opportunistic birds and a huge python that we wouldn’t have noticed without his expert eye. Definitely worth doing a tour with Solar Whisper! And as always, the bigger benefit for small operators comes from direct bookings through their websites or phones :)
Great way to spot some crocs and other wildlife! Our guide Dave was very interesting, full of information and facts. We spotted 5 crocs, including two very cute babies. Also lots of birdlife and some mating pythons.
