The geological formations in and around the fortress with their red mushroom-shaped rocks and magnifiscent view from above were like candy to our eyes. The cave was closed due to flooding, so we went to another beautiful, huge and very impressive stalagmite and stalactite cave, Magura cave, where we met a local guide that spoke only Bulgarian and which our guide, Maria, has skillfully translated into English, and we walked underground for 1.7 km!!! Highly recomended and totaly worth the drive.
It was beautiful and nice mixture mountains and cave. The ride is long (on the way back there was a problem with the air conditioning) the guide Dimitre loves nature. He was extremely nice thoughtful and fun
Highly recommended to those wanting to explore beyond Sofia. Breathtaking views all throughout. Dimitar (driver guide) was great and accommodating.
The trip went even better than I expected. The rocks look good in the pictures, but when you see them live, the scenery is just breathtaking. The cave is also nice, but the rocks would already make the price well worth it. Our guide (Maria) was also great, she provided a friendly atmosphere and also kept telling us information and fun facts about the places we were currently at.
