The Accademia Gallery is one of the most exciting museums in the world. Smaller than the Uffizi Gallery, it offers a collection of unique treasures that make a visit a must during your stay in Florence. This tour was developed with the help of specialists in Art History. This section includes an original Stradivarius from 1690 made by Antonio Stradivari for the Great Prince, and the first modern piano, which was invented in Florence. You will then move on to the museum’s other treasures by Michelangelo, and unveil their secrets in the greatest detail. Afterwards, you will discover the artistic pinnacle of Michelangelo’s magnificent David, the symbol of the city of Florence. We will delight you with the secrets and entertaining anecdotes that only these professional guides know. The Acadamie was less crowded than we feared and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted viewing not only the Michelangelo David but other unfinished works (the prisoners), Stradivarius instruments, and early piano forte, among other exhibits. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging.
The guide seemed very knowledgeable but arrived a bit late. Each time I asked the tour operator about the guide they always said “a few minutes”. Therefore we kept thinking they were a few minutes away but were rather 15/20 minutes away which is not a few. We kept thinking we missed our tour guide, therefore, the tour itself but rather they had not yet arrived. Managing expectations needs to be improved.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the delay and for the uncertainty it caused before the tour began. We understand how frustrating it can be to wait at the meeting point while wondering whether you may have missed your guide. We are pleased to hear that, despite the delayed start, you found the guide knowledgeable and enjoyed the experience itself. Our guides are passionate about sharing their expertise, and we are glad this was reflected during your visit. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Your feedback is appreciated, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.
Our tour guide - Johna- generously shared a wealth of information about Academia, different historic periods of art. The essential part of her lecture was focused on Michelangelo' sculptures, his technique, methods, and his work on David.

Understanding the artistic and historical context behind the masterpieces truly enhances the experience, and we are pleased that her insights helped bring the collection to life. We are especially glad that you appreciated her detailed presentation of Michelangelo's sculptures, his artistic techniques, and the extraordinary story behind David, one of the most celebrated masterpieces in the world. Thank you for choosing to explore Florence's artistic heritage with us. We hope to welcome you back for more unforgettable cultural experiences in the future.

This was an amazing tour for 2 reasons…first the artwork and David were incredible…and secondly, our tour guide, Laura, was an art history major in college and was able to provide so much insight that you would not great if you just visited on your own. Laura also provided suggestions on what to see as we moved on to Rome. This tour was so worth it!!

We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that Laura made your experience so memorable with her deep knowledge and thoughtful recommendations. It’s always our goal to bring the art and history to life for our guests, and we’re so glad you found the tour worthwhile. We hope to see you again on your next visit!
