Slowinski National Park is one of the 23 national parks in Poland and one of the only two seaside parks. This national park was formed to preserve the beauty of the eco-system; the unchanged sea lakes (Lebsko and Gardno ), swamps, forests, and especially the unique moving dunes. The environmentalists value the qualities of the Slowinski National Park and have placed it on the international lists of protected areas such as: HELCOMBSPA, World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, or wetland Ramsar. Areas of the Slowinski National Park were used by the German army during the WWII as a large rocket experimental polygon and a place to train the Africa Corps. The park’s entrance gate is located 8km from the shifting dunes, so you will be transported by melex (an electric vehicle) both ways.

It was a very pleasant experience, in summer the weather is the best, note the water is a little cold but it is something different for the experience, The city is very beautiful and full of history, a little sad because of the events that occurred there, but at the same time seeing how it has been able to move forward is a source of wonder.
Thank you for review. Yes, water in baltic sea seems to be a bit chilly compering to Adriatic sea ;)
Mirek, our tour guide was very informative, and took us a different route, so that we could see the Kartuzy area , as we had him for another trip before. The melex transport was fast and exciting taking us to the base of the walk up the dunes, which is a challenge! We had a beautiful day, so got some lovely photos. Not many places open for lunch, but Mirek found a local restaurant for us. The military museum was closed, but he took us to the ship yard on the way home, which was great.
Thank you Audrey. You are welcome again. A lots more to see :)
