Itinerary
Meet your guide a short walk from one of Florence’s top museums, the Accademia Gallery. No queuing as with this first access skip-the-line entry you'll go straight to see Michelangelo’s “David” before the crowds arrive.
This tour takes you into the back streets of Florence to see the medieval town houses located in the oldest part of the city.
Then it is into the Piazza Duomo to cast your eyes upon the wonderful Cathedral with its perfectly preserved and unique marble engravings. Towering above you is Brunelleschi’s Dome; symbol of Renaissance Florence and famous for its daring design and even more challenging realization. The Piazza Duomo is filled with interesting things to see but we will ensure you don’t miss Giotto’s bell tower, an example of 1300 architecture and the splendid Porta del Paradiso of the Baptistery.
It is then on to the political centre of Florence, the Piazza della Signoria. Dominating one side of the square are the Uffizi, formerly the offices of the Grand Dukes of the city, and the former seat of the government of Florence. On the other side of the square is the Palazzo Vecchio.
The, the walking tour takes you through the “Porcellino” (little pig) market and on to the oldest bridge in Florence, the Ponte Vecchio, which dates back to the 1300s. The landmark Ponte Vecchio offers marvelous views of the surrounding Florentine Hills. Your guide will tell you about the bridge’s history, and how the Vasari Corridor dramatically changed the shops that line the bridge.
The tour stops at the Church of Santa Croce.

Our private guide was exceptional. A native from Florence who studied in Florida, Ricardo spoke excellent English and far exceeded our expectations with his in depth knowledge of art and history. We learned a lot more information than in a typical group tour. Highly recommend.
My sister-in-law and I traveled to Italy from the U.S. for work and fun. We have had many tours when we've traveled, and Leonardo was our best guide so far. He provided us with amazing stories, connecting us to the art and society across time. We were able to connect dots from our own knowledge through his phenomenal teaching and expertise. He personalized our experience, provided a fun and exciting experience, and we are filled with joy and understanding after having spent three hours with him for a private tour. This was a once in a lifetime experience and without it, we would not have understood all that we saw. Don't miss it - be sure to have a guide - and be sure to choose Leonardo. He's the best!
Leonardo was the best guide ever! We loved the tour, it was my dream to see the David! Just book it!
Would’ve given a zero but it wouldn’t let me. Your charter or tour guide canceled on my wife and I less than 24 hours before.

My husband, two teenage children, and I took this tour in June. Our tour guide (whose name I wish I could remember) was wonderful. We learned a lot about the Medici family, which was fascinating, And she even talked with my teenage daughter (a bookworm) about writers in Florence. We’d walked around the city on our own the day before, but had a better appreciation of the sights after the tour. And best of all, she could talk in detail about Michelangelo and about David, pointing out many different features from different angles. Even my teenage son enjoyed the tour. I was a bit concerned as there weren’t any recent reviews on this site, but I had no reason to worry. The guide was waiting for us at the appointed location, she was a professional tour guide who spoke perfect English, extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, and wanted to make sure we had a great experience. We really enjoyed our morning with her!
Guide for local. Very knowledgeable. Adapted to our requests. Was very pleased. In additon to Gallery Academia, she took us to various Santa Croce church and Santa Maria Novella.
We had an amazing experience on our guided, private tour with Bianca! She was extremely knowledgeable, patient, professional, and answered all of our questions. The tour itself was informative and we saw historical Florentine highlights, even including a stop by a famous espresso shop! This tour was one of the most memorable on our trip to Italy. We highly recommend Private Tours, especially Bianca!
Leonardo was terrific. His depth of knowledge of the history behind everything we saw made the tours so much more interesting. I can’t imagine touring FLORENCE with him as our guide
We had a very enjoyable tour with Emilia from Private tours. Emilia was punctual and respectful. She was very knowledgeable of the area and history of Florence and Florentine families. We skipped the line at the Academia and got a wonderful informative tour of David. Emilia includes charming antidotes and stories wherever she can during her tours. Emilia was happy to point out the best shops for jewelry and leather. We appreciated this very much as we did spend time shopping after our tour and lunch. Emilia walked us directly to a fantastic restaurant and made sure we had a table before she left. It was one of the best meals we had on our trip! I would enthusiastically recommend Private tours and most importantly Emilia who was a terrific tour guide.
