Did not enjoy. Jerico was attentive & emphasised safety. However did not othewise engage unless spoken to. Not a people's person. Did not make the experience an enjoyable & FUN adventure as I expected it to be
Edgar was an amazing tour guide. Despite the weather…we had some icy rain…he was knowledgeable and entertaining. He also is a great photographer and helped us get the best shots. ❤️ Worth the trip for sure!!!
The guides explained the quality equipment usage, provided glacier facts and lovely photograph opportunities along with carefully watching out for every person in the group. Outstandi
Booked a glacier hike with troll.is after many great experiences with other companies in Iceland. This was one of the most shocking and unprofessional tour experiences we have ever had. Despite bringing high-quality, waterproof winter boots, I was forced to use the operator’s boots. The pair given to me was visibly wet and not waterproof. See pictures. I raised this concern three separate times with different staff members before the tour started. Each time, I was dismissed and told ‘honey, I can’t give you another pair we give this stuff to tourist all the time’. What kind of operator thinks deeply soaked summer boots with a squelching amount of water in there is normal to send human beings on a several hour glacier hike? Within minutes on the first couple of hundreds of meters through snow and slush, my boots filled with more water — loudly squelching with every step. My feet became ice-cold, and numb. The guide was informed and did nothing. It was even worse than nothing - although he knew I froze he did super slow and we stopped every 10 m or so for minutes. We stood more than we walked. I had to spend the entire glacier hike jumping and stamping just to maintain circulation and avoid potential injury. My kidneys began to hurt as a result of hours of frozen feet in a glacier tour. It was a horrific nightmare. When my husband asked for a pickup at the bottom of the glacier after the tour to spare me hobbling back to the bus with frozen feet for another half hour to prevent further harm, he was laughed at. This is not just poor service — this is reckless and negligent behavior that puts customers at real health risk. The entire experience was ruined for our family. No accountability, no support, no professionalism. I ended up with a pyelitis. This is absolutely unacceptable. I am going to update on the way the company deals with this failure.
This is a fantastic tour. The experience was beautiful and unique. On this tour you travel quite far on to the glacier, representing a good value. Our guide was very friendly and fun and assured our safety. Troll expeditions was very flexible and helped us out despite our late arrival. The guides gave suggestions of other points of interest in the area. The tour leaves from a place quite far from Reykjavik. I highly recommend this experience.
Very good experience with Troll.is. We spent an excellent afternoon, with perfect weather, on the glacier! Well organized, friendly guides. We recommend Troll.is
This was a unique experience and scenery was beautiful. Marco was amazing, very willing to share his knowledge about the glaciers, caves and the other stuff around. He gave us ample time at each checkpoint to click enough pictures. The tour was well organized, as per schedule and didn’t seemed rushed. However, I would suggest everyone to read the tour description carefully so that you understand that this is not really a hike and more like a stroll across the area with a lot of stops. We had our expectations in line while booking the tour. So, no complaints!
Marco was guide who was extremely knowledgeable and mad it a great experience.
Come and see for yourself, the place is magical, the team great and I fell in love!
Great, humorous guides made me feel comfortable and safe. Walking on a glacier, going into an ice cave, seeing and walking in the amazing scenery: all of the experience was top notch.
