Noise of vehicle impacts ability to hear commentary

Interesting tour in old noisy duck boat on land and water. Due to the noise of the vehicle and a lovely (but heavily accented) guide we were unable to hear much of the commentary. This greatly diminished the experience as we felt we missed a lot of intersting information

Take only the first seat and don’t do it if you can’t tolerate continuos noise.

The only exciting thing is that the bus turns into a boat. It is very very noisy due to the continuous noise of the diesel generator making it impossible to hear anything the guide has to say. She didn’t change her position or repeat herself to ensure that everyone can hear her. Not the best conducted tour. the guide is sweet in her expression and disposition though.

Operator response

Dear Madhavisd99, Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found our guide sweet and pleasant. Our duck is an authentic vehicle from the Vietnam War era, and while that makes it a unique piece of history, it also means the diesel engine can be quite noisy. This tour may not be suitable for guests who are sensitive to continuous engine noise, but many visitors enjoy the rare opportunity to ride in a historic amphibious vehicle and experience the moment it transitions from a land vehicle to a boat. We appreciate your comments regarding the audibility of the tour and will share them with our team for review. Your Singapore DUCKtours Team

Quick look at some Singapore sights

We did the one-hour long Duck Tour which departed from SUNTEC. You go to see some of the sights like City Hall, Mariana Bay Sands and Merlion to name a few. There was commentary along the way. Well worth doing the tour.

Operator response

Dear tommomelbourne, Thank you for your review! We are glad you enjoyed the DUCKtours. We look forward to welcoming you again real soon! Your Singapore DUCKtours Team

Duck Tours Singapore

Duck tours is a fun activity! We (family of four) had a great splash into the river and we got to see lots of sights. Unfortunately, our tour guide was very difficult to understand. The volume of the microphone was very high but unfortunately we could not understand his English very well and because he wore a face mask we couldn’t lip read either. I’m sure he had lots of interesting information to share but we really struggled to understand what he was saying and probably only captured about 10 %, this was very disappointing. Perhaps it would be possible to do a recording with headphones? Or, a teleprompter which people could read as the guide speaks? Additionally, it advertised a one-hour tour and we were back within 45 minutes. We were excited to go on this tour but felt a bit unsatisfied after.

Operator response

Dear americaninswiss, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are glad your family enjoyed the splash into Marina Bay and the sights around Singapore. We are sorry to hear about the difficulty in understanding the commentary and that the tour duration did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your suggestions and will share them with our team as we continue to improve the experience for our guests. Your Singapore DUCKtours

Rather mediocre

We booked the tour because we wanted to explore the city and thought with “Duck Tours” it would be a fun experience. In itself, the tour in the vehicle is also very cool and we found it funny when we went into the water at speed. Unfortunately, however, you don't hear anything from the tour and you are only about 45 minutes away, either Singapore really has nothing to offer or the tour is only very half-hearted. However, we found them far too expensive for the price and would not recommend them.

Operator response

Dear Leek161, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the unique land-to-water experience, but we are sorry that the commentary and overall value did not meet your expectations. Clear and engaging narration is an important part of the tour, and we will be reviewing this with our team to ensure improvements are made. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future. Your Singapore DUCKtours Team

We arrived at the departure site only to find out they had canceled our tour without letting us know

Loved the Games, the Guide & the Water Splash‑In

Like the Big Bus tours, I always enjoy a DUCK tour wherever they’re available — and Singapore definitely ticked that box for us. We joined the tour during Formula One preparations, which added a completely unexpected bonus. Seeing parts of the track being set up as we drove through the city gave the whole experience a unique twist you wouldn’t get on a regular day. The water portion of the tour was just as enjoyable — calm, scenic, and a great way to see Singapore’s highlights from a different angle. It’s relaxing without ever feeling slow, and it offers a fun contrast to the city’s busy streets. This is a fantastic activity for families. Kids would absolutely love the novelty of driving straight into the water, and our guide made it even more entertaining by running little games with prizes. I’ve never had that on a DUCK tour in any other country, so it was a fun surprise that lifted the mood and had us all testing our Singapore knowledge (and learning new things along the way). One tip: book ahead. This isn’t a large‑capacity tour, and we couldn’t just walk up — we needed a confirmed booking to secure our time slot. A fun, unique, and family‑friendly way to explore Singapore by land and sea.

Operator response

Dear packanddashtravel, Thank you for your wonderful review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed both the land and water segments of the tour, and that your experience was made even more special by the Formula One preparations—what a unique time to visit! It is great to know that our guide’s games and interactive approach added to the enjoyment, especially for families. We always aim to create a fun and engaging experience for guests of all ages, so your kind words mean a lot to our team. We also appreciate you highlighting the importance of booking in advance—this is very helpful for future guests planning their visit. Thank you once again for your thoughtful feedback. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable adventure in Singapore. Your Big Bus Singapore Team
