One of the 100 most famous waterfalls in Japan and is an important place of pilgrimage and ascetic practice. The beauty of the waterfall, which is 20 metres high and 150 metres wide, ant the negative ions calm the mind.
The head shrine of the 1300-odd Sengen shrines in Japan. It is the oldest shrine in the Tokai region. The deity is Mt.Fuji. The main shrine, built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, is a national important cultural property, with Wakutama-ike pond which is fed by melted snow from Mt.Fuji, a national special monument.
Visitors can easily experience a simulated Mt.Fuji climb. Accessible to people with limited mobility / small children, and provides an enjoyable way to learn about Mt.Fuji. On clear days, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Mt.Fuji from the top floor.
You can eat popular local gourmet Fujinomiya yakisoba in Omiya Yokocho. Fujinomiya Yakisoba contains “cabbage,” “meat dregs,” and "fish shavings. The noodles have a unique chewy texture and are perfectly satisfying! You can enjoy a variety of local delicacies besides the sticky texture of the noodles, which is a feature of this dish. The tour staff members are outstanding. They know the history, culture, and geography of the area and communicate their knowledge well. The visit to Shiraito was spectacular and the shrine was inspiring. The Fuji World Heritage Museum was nice but the weather wasn’t cooperating so couldn’t see the mountain at all. This was a worthwhile tour.

This was a fabulous tour given by a phenomenal tour guide named HiRo. Her English was outstanding yet she strives to perfected more and more. Impressive! She was kind, thoughtful, and extremely polite. She knew all the details about the falls in Mount Fuji and shared that knowledge freely. At lunchtime, I was the only one in the party who was vegetarian and she made sure that I found an option that was delicious. We really enjoyed our day and highly recommend HiRo and her tour.
