By participating this tour, you can visit 3 most popular spots around Shimizu. 1. Nihondaira Plateau (Green tea field and Mt.Fuji view at Nihondaira Ocha Kaikan, Nihondaira Yume Terrace Observatory, Spectacular view from Nihondaira ropeway) 2. Kunozan Toshogu Shrine a brilliant national treasure shrine. This beautiful shrine is for giving worship to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo period. 3. Miho Beach (Miho Pine Tree Grove= a part of Mt.Fuji World Heritage, Miho no Matsugara Culture & Creativity Center) Our licensed English guides will guide you. They have a lot of knowledge about this area. We provide this tour by comfortable van taxis. Regarding to the starting time, we recommend you to start earlier as possible to reduce the risk to line up for the ropeway. Note: If you have wheelchairs or strollers, please let us know the number and its size. Due to the limited number of guides, we accept a maximum of 10 group bookings per day (one booking per group).

Car transportation from Shimizu Port to Nihondaira
This ropeway connects Nihondaira and Kunozan Toshogu Shrine in 5 minutes.We use round trip ropeway. Please enjoy beautiful view of Suruga Bay, (waiting time and riding time for round trip, about 20 minutes)
Brilliant shrine which is registered as a national treasure. This shrine is concerned with the most famous Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu.There is mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu.
New observatory which opened In November 2018. You can enjoy spectacular view of Mt.Fuji, Shimizu Port, Izu Peninsula, Southern Alps
This is a Japanese tea shop and they have also green tea field. If the weathercondition is fine, you can take photos of Mt.Fuji over this green tea field.
Car transportation from Nihondaira to Miho Pine Tree Grove
A part of Mt.Fuji World Heritage. The view of Mt.Fuji from there is very special! Green pine Tree grove, black sand beach, white wave, blue sky... This is a wonderful view that represents Japan.
New opened center in March 2019. You can learn history of Miho, Hagoromo legend, also can enjoy short movie about Miho no Matsubara. Even if the weather is not good and you can not view Mt.Fuji from Miho beach, you can enjoy here.

The guide met us early in a private van. The guide knew a lot of local history. We saw Mt Fuji from a lookout and from a beautiful black sand beach. We took a aerial tram to a beautiful shrine of the shogun that united Japan. We even saw the grave of his devoted horse and marveled about the energy to build the castle. Beautiful ending to the final stop in Japan.

Motomo and her driver greeted us with warmth, just steps from our small cruise ship. The quiz with visuals was a very fun way to learn culture, pronunciation, lore, history, topography, etc. It made for a quick drive to each destination, too. Her enthusiasm for sharing Shimizu area sights and fabulous views of Mt Fuji made us feel very welcomed. She clearly enjoys her job. Highly recommend. Booking and communication before our tour were top notch, with quick responses. We appreciated being a group of 4 getting to see the sights with personal guidance. Thank you! We had wonderful guides throughout Japan, yet Motomo was our favorite.

Motoko met us promptly at the exit from the cruise ship. Her English is impeccable and she is so knowledgeable about Shimizu and its surrounds. Her enthusiasm about what she described to us was a wonderful bonus. We learned so much!! She had the timing set perfectly so that we were able to see and do everything before the large crowds arrived. Motoko was kind enough to take some photos on her own phone and send them to us. Being able to see Mt Fuji from several different vantage points was a plus. Our vehicle was perfectly clean and our driver polite and courteous. We would strongly recommend this excursion without hesitation. (Be sure to have some mandarin ice cream while at the Nihondaira Ropeway!) Thank you Motoko!! Wonderful day with our guide Hero and driver. We were picked up at the port and off to see the important sites as outlined online. Hero surprised us with a box of green tea cookies at the end of our tour. He is a very kind man who provided a wonderful tour. Highly recommend.

Everything was seamless. Communication was top notch so I had all the detailed information. Our guide met us timely and was very accommodating with a big family and 2 babies. She was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. We absolutely loved this tour and it was the highlight of our trip. I highly recommend this tour. We had a great trip with Yoko as our guide. She was so welcoming, friendly and good fun. Packed a lot of fun and information into four hours. Taxi van was immaculate and comfortable. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has a half day to fill.

This tour is a great way to see Shimizu sites. Our tour guide, Rei, and our driver were excellent. Rei’s English and her knowledge of each of the sites were outstanding. Our group greatly appreciated her wonderful personality and her displays explaining each of the sites. She made sure our tour was timed to allow us to avoid large crowds. Highly recommend this tour!
