Itinerary
We pick up from central hotels in Baku exept Hotels that aresituated in the Old City and near by. That guests are coming to the Double Gates - main gates of the Old City (Qosha Qala qapisi)
Driving along the M1 motorway connecting the capital of Azerbaijan with the largest cities of Russia, you will see the mountain Beshbarmak, located near the coast of the Caspian Sea. Beshbarmak is a place of pilgrimage for the local population and thanks to its height and shape has been an excellent reference point for sailors since ancient times. The holy place “Pir Hydyr Zundzha” is located at the foot of the Beshbarmag Mountain, where the travelers stop to perform prayers and worship. Your professional guide will tell you the mythical stories associated with this place.
One of Azerbaijan’s most beautiful stretches of road leads for about 40 kilometres from the Guba-Baku highway west towards the mountain village of Altiaghaj. Roughly mid-way between the two one passes through a dramatic valley flanked by rolling shale mountains whose astonishing red, orange, pink and chalk-coloured swirls led British travel writer Mark Elliott (author of the very popular 'Azerbaijan' guidebook) to dub them the Candy Cane Mountains, a name that’s stuck with travellers ever since. The astonishing colours are said to be due to groundwater that’s altered the oxidation state of iron compounds within the rock.
The next destination will be Guba city, which is located in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of Azerbaijan. On the way to Guba, our guests will visit the unique settlement of Jews in mountains, "Caucasian Jerusalem" - the Red Town. The village has 13 synagogues, among which two are operational. There are about 4-5 thousand Jews live in Qirmizi Qesebe that is symbol of pluralism in Azerbaijan and symbol of peace and harmony among the different religions.
Qechresh is one of the largest villages in the Guba region. The area is covered with forest on all sides. Qechresh is famous for its natural springs and plants. Along the road, there are recreation areas and restaurants where you can sample the local cuisine.
Stop at a restaurant for lunch
Last point of the tour will be Shahdagh Mountain Resort Complex which is situated in Qusar city. They can enjoy there with diferent winter attractions. There are activities such as roller coaster, cable car, zip line, and ATV cars.

We had such a fun trip with our guide Yusif! We visited the Candy Cane Mountains, had a great lunch in Guba, and then headed up to Shahdag which everybody needs to visit when coming to Azerbaijan. Even though it started raining a lot in the mountains, Yusif kept the trip enjoyable and made sure we didn’t miss out. He also took amazing photos of us, which made the day even more special. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing one-day tour to Shahdag today with our guide Mr Murad. Everything was perfectly organized — from transportation to sightseeing — and we truly enjoyed every moment. Mr Murad was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the area, making the whole experience smooth and memorable. The scenery was breathtaking, and thanks to his guidance, we got the most out of our trip. I highly recommend Murad and his team to anyone visiting Azerbaijan. If you’re looking for a reliable and well-planned tour, don’t hesitate to book with them. Thank you once again for the wonderful experience.

Candy cane mountain stop timing was ok and the mountains were beautiful, great place for insta photos. Stop at Guba shouldve been shorter, the main restaurant was bad and their food was not good at all. Toilets were not good at Guba and at the stop before jn the market! Saving the extra time spent in Guba couldve made it possible for us to try all the rides at Shadag, have better food options, shisha and enjoy the beautiful green mountains! I also bought my tickets with access to the rides and i discovered there that i have to pay for the zipline separately! I couldnt make it to the roller coaster because of the long queue at the zipline so i ended up losing tickets for 2! Toilets at the stop after Shahdag were not good, ladies cannot use them! We were lucky with the tour guide, Dianara, a very sweet girl kept us all entertained. I recommend group option as the trip is too long!
Very Enjoyable trip, especially with our guide Leyla , very friendly and warm , explained all queries related to the history of Baku , making our experience even more engaging. She catered to all our needs. Truly enjoyed.

Leyla has a wonderful way of connecting with everyone, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home, even in new surroundings. Her knowledge of the area and engaging personality enriched the tour, leaving us with memories we’ll cherish. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a lively and warm guide to bring out the best in their travel experience!”
The guide is very friendly and cheerful. We spent many hours on the old mini van, which can be quite uncomfortable if you have car sickness as it is going up and down of a mountain, and it is stuffy and squeezy for 10 passengers and 1 driver to be in a mini van (I was sitting facing the opposite direction throughout the ride). Unfortunately it rained when we reached Shahdag mountain resort and had to do all the activities in the rain, and we were all wet and cold. We booked for an all inclusive tour so lunch was included. It was a big and quiet restaurant which served us very delicious food.
Dear customer, Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our friendly guide and the delicious food at the restaurant. Regarding the vehicle, we use a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter, which may not seem old, but it is a reliable and comfortable choice for our tours. We also want to clarify that we do not take responsibility for the weather conditions, and we apologize if the rain affected your experience at Shahdag Mountain Resort. We hope you still have good memories from the trip and would love to welcome you back in the future! Best regards, Azerbaiajan Travel
Had a fun day in our group tour with Leyla. The coaster ride was great in the autumn weather. The candy marble stone site was worth a visit.
