Description
Trek up Mount Fløyen and partake in a beloved Bergen pastime on this self-guided audio tour. Experience the magic of GPS playback on this immersive hike. Bergen is a city with many names. It’s known as the capital of Western Norway and has been called the Gateway to the Fjords. But most importantly, it’s the City of the Seven Mountains. These mountains provide plenty of hiking opportunities, and on this walking tour, I’ll show you one of the most beloved routes up Fløyen, the most popular of the Seven Mountains. You’ll learn about the market’s history and hear about Ludvig Holberg, one of Bergen’s greatest playwrights. You’ll walk from the market square to the Fløibanen funicular’s lower station. You’ll then follow an easy path up on the mountainside, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. As you climb, I’ll tell you what local life here is like and share a few urban legends. This tour is perfect for anyone who likes spending time in nature while staying close to the city center.

Trail from the base of the hill to its peak very quiet, with few stairs and plenty of views and green. The trail has around 2.5-3km, depending on the path taken (but all lead to the same place). Well signalled, fully self-guided.
The view was exceptional, go early to avoid the crowds, the fish market is to be seen and enjoyed. Only worries with the hotel not really nice, it is better to go to chain hotels such as Thon or Nordic, which is why I did not put 5 green points
