For more than 200 years, The Battery has been an invaluable part of New York City’s history. Decades before Ellis Island was built or the Statue of Liberty gazed down at incoming boats, millions of newcomers arrived at The Battery from Europe and elsewhere.
[Pedestal visit is not included] Its most notable feature is the Statue of Liberty, a large statue by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi that was dedicated in 1886.
Ellis Island was the busiest immigrant inspection and processing station in the United States. After welcoming more than 12 million immigrants to our shores, Ellis Island is now a poetic symbol of the American Dream.

This tour was the highlight of our NYC trip. Joseph was so insightful, knowledgeable and entertaining. What a genuinely lovely man. Information in advance was all clear so meeting was easy and smooth, he gave great history and tips getting us to the best spots on the boat and island first. Nothing was too much bother. We learnt so much we didn't know and all with a bit of fun too. You should definitely book. We're from UK.

Booked a tour for Statue of Liberty and received email saying tour was canceled for unforeseen reasons (72 hours before tour). Completely understandable, but then they provided two other dates for two weeks in the future as if they assume we live there. Even worse, when I tried to call, email, and text as they say to, no answers from any line…only straight to voicemail. Still no refund or response and still no tour. Be aware of the scam for some of these tours.
We are truly sorry that your experience did not meet expectations. However, we do want to clarify the facts of what occurred, as your review does not accurately reflect the steps we took to assist you. Your tour was canceled four days in advance (Tuesday for a Saturday tour) due to circumstances outside of our control. We notified you immediately and provided alternate dates simply as an option—not an assumption that you lived locally. Offering alternatives is a standard courtesy, but never an obligation for our guests. Regarding communication, our team responded to your emails multiple times, including after business hours, to ensure you were fully informed and supported. At no point were you left without a reply. We also processed your full refund, by contacting the reseller from whom you bought to the ticket and asking them to promptly refund you through the original payment method. We understand the frustration that comes with a canceled experience, and we always aim to resolve issues as quickly and transparently as possible. However, it’s important that reviews reflect the situation accurately. We acted promptly, communicated repeatedly, and ensured you received your refund. We wish you the best in your travels and hope you have the chance to enjoy the Statue of Liberty tour in the future.
I did my tour with “Charlie” and he was terrific!! So knowledgable, sincere and interactive. Answered all my questions and made what would have been a good 1st experience…GREAT!!! Thank God I had a good one in him and I’ll never forget it!!
