Itinerary

Choose your desired tour start time and travel independently to Oskar Schindler’s Factory Museum in central Krakow. Meet your guide outside and hear how the museum is housed in the very factory where the Nazi industrialist Oskar Schindler employed Jewish workers during WWII. Before starting, get an illuminating introduction to Schindler, learning how Steven Spielberg brought his story to the world’s attention in his 1993 Oscar-winning movie, Schindler’s List. Then, head inside for your in-depth tour. Made up of interactive and photographic displays, the museum concentrates not only on Schindler’s and his employees’ work, but also on Krakow’s suffering during the run-up to war and beyond. As you explore, your guide will provide fascinating commentary, recounting poignant tales that will deepen your understanding of what happened here and Krakow’s history. Learn Schindler’s story and how his Jewish employees manufactured pots, pans, tins and other enamelware for the German army: a vital war effort that protected them from near-certain transportation to the concentration camps. See some of the products made here, view Schindler’s office, and hear the fates of some of the 1,200 Schindlerjuden — Schindler’s Jews — who worked in the factory. Follow your guide around the rooms dedicated to Krakow’s suffering during the war and later 20th century. View photographs of the terrorized city; be transported into the cobbled streets, resistance hideaways and prisons of the Nazi- and Soviet-occupied city; and get a sense of the overwhelming fear that gripped the population through original documents, artifacts, and film and radio recordings. After two hours of exploring, your tour ends outside the building. Say goodbye to your guide, who will provide you with directions back to the city center or your hotel as required.

Take photo identification with you

We did the guided tour, which took about 2 hours. The guide was just starting to do English tours, so had a little difficulty with her wording on occasion and wasn’t very good at keeping the group together. We lost her at one point. Although I think the guided tour is the best way to do this museum, you do miss certain areas. Make sure you take photo identification with you.

Operator response

Dear Traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share your review and for providing such an important tip for future visitors regarding photo identification! Having ID is indeed a crucial requirement for ticket verification at the museum. We sincerely appreciate your honest feedback regarding your guide. We are sorry to hear that her pacing and group management fell short, and that you became separated at one point during the tour. While we are glad to hear she is expanding her skills into English guiding, we take group cohesion and clear communication very seriously. We will address this directly with her and our guiding team to ensure better group management and support for our newer English-speaking guides. You also made a very fair point about the route. Because the museum is dense with information and group tours operate within a strict 2-hour window, guides must focus on a specific path to weave the core narrative together smoothly, which means some of the side exhibits can be bypassed. Thank you again for your constructive insights, as they play a vital role in helping us refine our experiences. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Kraków! Deeply moving tour

This was advertised as being a ticket to the museum, which was incorrect. In addition to the amount you pay for the guided tour, you also have to purchase your ticket to museum. We waited in line to go in as a group for 40 minutes after our original meeting time. While I appreciated the tour, it wasn’t organized very well.

Bit of a Disappointment

We had tried to find Schindlers two days before using a tourist map and got completely loss, so following a tour of the salt mines the tour guide dropped us off within 650 mts . Had not booked on line so thought we would not get in however, it was a quite period so got in. Not what we expected, great museum with lots of history surrounding the Nazi occupation of Krakow and lots of photos and videos of the harrowing era. We did not have a guide, that may have been a mistake, however, we were not sure if we were even in the original building and we never found out what exactly what Oskar Schindler did for living and how he saved so many Jews.

Operator response

Dear Traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. We are so glad to hear that after your initial challenge navigating the city, our salt mine team was able to drop you off so close by, and that you managed to secure walk-in tickets during a quiet period! Because this museum strictly limits daily capacity and often sells out days in advance, you were very fortunate to get inside. To help clear up some of the confusion from your visit: we can happily confirm that you were indeed standing in the authentic, original administrative building of Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory (Emalia). You made an excellent point regarding the museum's content and the lack of a guide. The permanent exhibition is officially titled "Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939-1945." It is intentionally designed to act as a broader, immersive history lesson about the harrowing reality of the city during the war. Because of this massive scope, Oskar Schindler's specific story—including his enamel business, his office, and how he risked everything to save more than 1,200 Jewish lives—is woven into specific rooms within the factory. Without a guide to knit these complex timelines together and point out the specific spaces (like Schindler's original office containing his desk and the giant installation of enamel pots), it can unfortunately be easy to miss the deeper details of his personal mission amidst the broader history. We highly agree that a guided tour makes a significant difference here, as our guides ensure that Schindler’s incredible narrative takes center stage alongside the city's wartime context. Thank you again for your review, and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your time exploring Kraków! Largely Disappointing

We bought skip the line tickets at extra cost but didn’t need them as it wasn’t that busy. The experience was more of a war time history lesson rather than the Schindler himself. Our guide didn’t pause for breath for nearly 2 hours and I found myself losing interest in the experience

Operator response

Dear Traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and that you found the tour overwhelming. We appreciate your honest comment regarding the guide's delivery; conveying the immense depth of wartime history within a two-hour window can be a balancing act, and we will certainly share your feedback with our guiding team to help improve the pacing and engagement of future tours. We also appreciate your note regarding the tickets. While queue times can vary depending on the day and hour, these pre-booked tickets primarily serve to guarantee your entry slot. Because the museum strictly limits daily visitor capacity to preserve the exhibition environment, tickets frequently sell out entirely in advance. Regarding the content, the museum’s permanent exhibition is titled "Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939-1945." It is intentionally designed as a comprehensive look into the broader tragic history of the city and its residents during World War II, with Oskar Schindler's remarkable actions presented as a vital chapter within that larger context. Thank you again for your constructive review, as it helps us continuously monitor and improve the quality of our services. Great museum complimented by exceptional tour guide

You are paying for the tour guide - tickets for entry was extra but costs very little. Exceptional knowledge of Krakow leading up to and during WW2 and spoke fluent English Natalia - you were great!

Great guide to help through a harrowing museum

I originally was going to try to do this museum solo, but the booking was confusing and it looked like all individual tickets were sold out (not the case it turns out). I scoured for a tour that included tickets and found this one, in the end I am glad I had a guide! I lucked out with Woycek as a guide: he was so very informative and summarized the information better than I could have read on my own. He was wise, delightful, funny and incisive/honest, relating events from the museum to modern day issues as well. The museum is less about the named man than the overall situation in WW2, a wide lens to understand the city and the times and humanity.

Operator response

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We are truly delighted to hear that what began as a booking challenge turned into such a meaningful and valuable experience. It is wonderful to know that you enjoyed the tour with Wojtek and that his informative, wise, and engaging approach helped summarize the dense history perfectly. We are especially glad you appreciated his insightful connections to modern contexts and his honest storytelling. You also captured the true essence of the exhibition beautifully—as you noted, the museum offers a wide lens into the broader realities of wartime Kraków and humanity, rather than focusing solely on Oscar Schindler himself. Having a guide to navigate these heavy themes truly makes a difference, and we are thrilled that Wojtek made it such a memorable visit for you. Kind Regards, Discover Cracow Team

Factory

It was interesting, but we would liked to see more of the actual factory setting. We felt rushed through by a group of students. Many of English translations were damaged and difficult to read.
