Itinerary
Our first stop is at the Flamingos in the Walvis Bay lagune, we learn about them, why they are pink and about their habitat, then we drive past the enormous salt works and see the pink salt lakes. Further in the Lagune , which is a Ramsar site, we see the many waders and palearctic sea birds. The route takes us along the shore, past windswept dunes, seals and black backed Jackals, and harsh salt pans to where the Dunes meet the Ocean. .
The route along the shore takes us past wind swept dunes, black backed Jackals, seals and an array of sea birds. We see salt pans and vast open spaces, often with nobody in sight, and the dune belt that comes closer and closer, until it meets the sea. Entry into Sandwich harbour is often difficult and tide dependent, its Unique, its beautiful. Towering dunes on the left sea on the right. A rollercoaster ride takes us up to the high dunes and spectacular view point. The ambience is quiet and relaxed, its majestic and vast. We then go on an exhilarating dune ride and game drive, searching for what life the desert has to show, from the tiny shovelnose lizard, dancing on the hot dunes, to the ever hardened Oryx struggling to survive these harsh conditions. Sadly our exciting tour ends back in Walvis Bay and we drop you off where we picked you up, at the guest house or the Harbor as arranged. This will be one of you most memorable tours you can go on. We constantly hear 'Sandwich Harbor is the most beautiful place I've seen,' or 'this was one of my best tours ever'. Come along and see for yourself. Sandwich Harbor most definitely a Namibia highlight. We need at least 2 people to start the tour.

Pickup Locations & Times
We collect all guests at their Accommodation, in Walvis bay and along the coast to Swakopmund . We first pick up in Swakopmund and then Walvisbay about 40 min later. Walvis bay harbour /Port for Cruise liner Guests and Walvis Bay Airport Cruise liner guests are met at the harbour, at the time they dock, with a name board. please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show All cruise liner passengers: Please look out for our gazebo with the name Desert Dunes and Dust Tours on as you exit the cruise liner. Please note Sandwich Harbour tours is a sister company of Desert Dunes and Dust Tours

- Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
- Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap
- Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries

- Should our tour not start for whatsoever reason we offer an alternative slot/ time, or alternative tour or full refund
- We need two people to start the tour. A private tour an be arranged please contact us.
- Please advise your dietary requirements when making the tour.
- Please contact us the night before to confirm tour details by mail or what's app
- We collect our guests in the Harbour where your Ship docks with a name board with your name on it. We also have a tear drop Flag so we are easy to find
- Our pick up times are scheduled around your arrival times. We will always uphold our bookings no matter what time the ship arrives.
- Please note German guides are limited and we do not have the capacity to give everyone a German guide, These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please note we can not guarantee a German guide on every tour!!
- Should berthing times of The Cruise Liner change we will still be waiting for you had the Harbour
- Ideally we want to leave the harbor as soon as possible. Please disembark to meet your booking departure time so not to uphold other guests in teh vehicle iwth you
- Private can be arranged. Unfortunately, the other seats in the vehicle must be paid, so a minimum of 4 pax must be paid. Please contact us directly or by mail. Thank you

We had a really great day with Riaan. We drove safely and excitingly through the dunes. The trip was unique... the sea up to the dunes, picnic with delicious finger food. Great views... Sandwich Harbour... Riaan infected us with his good mood and told us a lot of interesting facts about Namibia and the landscape. We are very happy and grateful that we were able to experience this. Omg what an experience! Sandwich harbour is just an incredibly magical place. And the tour was levelled up thanks to Andrew, what an absolute legend. He was knowledgeable, witty and the best company. We had a great tour guide in Riaan. He safely but quite adventurously took us through the z. T. steep dunes. He showed us very beautiful viewpoints and brought a local-style picnic. Japie is a wonderful guide, driver and companion. Took us for an amazing ride on the sand dunes with an overlook of Sandwich harbour while guiding us through everything. Felt really safe while driving in an adventures way. We also had our 2 year and 9 month old with us and she loved every minute of it.
