Walvisbay: Sandwich Harbour SUNSET Tour-End It Beautifully Experience a breathtaking natural phenomenon that elicits a variety of emotions, while driving to and from Sandwich Harbour. Appreciating the beauty of the natural world with us. As we embark on the journey from day to night, we will have the opportunity to observe the stunning flamingos at Walvis Bay Lagoon across from the Flamingo Villa Hotel, as well as The Pink Lake at the Salt Pans while driving out to Sandwich Harbour. We will enjoy an exciting 4x4 drive across the dunes and along the coast to Sandwich Harbour, where we may encounter a variety of bird and animal life, such as springbok, gemsbok, oryx, jackals, ostriches, and even the elusive Namib Desert Gecko. During the tour, you will be treated to light snacks, drinks, and a glass of champagne. Afterward, we will make our way back to Walvis Bay." Please take note that a minimum of 2 pax is required to schedule a tour. Our tours are not private tours.

The visitors will convene with the guide at the parking lot located across from the Flamingo Villa Boutique Hotel in the Lagoon. There, they will have the opportunity to observe the flamingos and receive informative insights about them from the guide.
Following the visit to Pink Lake, the guide transports the guests to Sandwich Harbour. This enjoyable and thrilling journey along the dunes and coastline leads to the point where the dunes converge with the Atlantic Ocean. During the trip to Sandwich Harbour, they may encounter a diverse range of bird and animal species. Refreshments, including snacks and beverages, are provided mid-tour.
The Walvis Bay Salt Holding is situated at the southern end of Walvis Bay Lagoon. There th guests can view the Pink Lake.

If you are anywhere near Walvis Bay, this tour is a must-do and doing it at sunset elevates it to a whole new level. Driving across the dunes and experiencing this out of this world landscape is worth every penny. If you want the best possible experience in the dunes, book this tour and ask for Axton. Christian was an outstanding guide who was very knowledgeable about the desert and made a heartfelt effort to show us every detail and the typical animals. He definitely knew the best viewpoints, and we were alone at each one. He is an excellent dune driver with a lot of experience, unlike many others who try to power up the dunes with a lot of gas. Overall, a highly recommended trip that is truly worth the money. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent catering.
What a brilliant afternoon tour with Christian. I highly recommend the sunset tour for two reasons: you avoid the armada of cars if there is a cruise ship around - there were a total of five cars in the afternoon compared to > 30 in the morning - and you get much better light with the interplay of shades and warm sunlight. Disadvantages: time will not be enough to go down to Sandwich harbour, you will stay on top of the dunes. And of course you will have a lot of traces of the morning tours in the sand, but hey, this is a playground, don’t expect it to be virgin. To go down you need a full-day tour. We were picked up at 14.45 at Swakopmund and were back at 20.30 - so you really get something for your money. I orderer mainly vegetarian food and was surprised by the quality of the snacks and the sparkling wine offered. This was far beyond the usual snack stuff, all vegetarian, all good. We skipped dinner completely. All in all a great afternoon and we got a private tour for the price of a standard tour. Don‘t let other operators tell you that afternoon is not a good time for Sandwich Harbour: they don‘t want to do it because guides will finish their days very late. Otherwise its a brilliant decision.

This was one of the best experiences of our entire trip! From start to finish it was incredibly well curated. Christian was so knowledgeable about of the area and navigated us safely on an adventures ride through the most beautiful dunes, along the beaches and through greenery hiding the wildlife. The sunset over the dunes and ocean was a sight we will remember forever. If you have any time at all book this tour and you won’t regret it!
