Y Linh Ho Village is the first stop on our trekking adventure. After meeting your local Black Hmong guide at your hotel in Sapa, your guide will introduce themselves and explain the day’s itinerary before leading you along a scenic mountain trail to Y Linh Ho. Along the way, admire breathtaking rice terraces, spectacular mountain landscapes, and peaceful valleys. Your local guide will explain how Black Hmong families grow, harvest, and prepare indigo plants, sharing fascinating stories about their traditional farming methods and daily life. There will be several beautiful viewpoints for photos and short breaks while enjoying the fresh mountain air.
Continue trekking through the stunning Muong Hoa Valley to Lao Chai Village, one of the most beautiful Black Hmong villages in Sapa. Walk past panoramic rice terraces, bamboo bridges, hanging cafés, and traditional wooden houses surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. Visit the historic Lao Chai Church before stopping at a local family home, where you’ll discover the complete traditional process of hemp weaving and natural indigo dyeing. Learn how fabric is handmade using techniques passed down through generations of Black Hmong artisans. After the cultural experience, enjoy a delicious homemade lunch prepared by a local family. Relax for around 30–45 minutes before returning comfortably to Sapa by car.

We had the absolute pleasure of doing our trekking and bike tour in North Vietnam with Sau, Pao and Do and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the first moment, they made us feel welcome, relaxed, and in very good hands. Both of them shared so much knowledge about the local culture, traditions, village life, and the surrounding nature. It didn’t feel like a standard tour – it felt authentic and real. The landscapes were breathtaking – endless rice fields, mountains, small remote villages, and stunning viewpoints along the way. Sau, Pao annd Do adjusted the pace perfectly to our level and always made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. What made the experience extra special was their personalities. Friendly, warm, patient and with a great sense of humor. You can really feel their pride in their home region and their passion for sharing it with visitors. If you want a genuine trekking experience in Vietnam, away from mass tourism, we can highly recommend going with Sau and Pao. We would absolutely do it again! We did the trekking tour with Ai and she was an amazing guide! We had a great time with her and she told us a lot about the region and the culture. She was also very funny and we laughed a lot :) we can really recommend doing a tour with her!

We came across this guide (Ai) by chance. The tour we did was very nice. Visit of rice fields in the vicinity of Sapa. Visit 3 villages with a stop in a restaurant (simple and very good). Our guide was super nice and interesting. We definitely recommend.

1 day trekking tour and it was good. We originally booked 2 days but we felt 1 day was sufficient. Guide was knowledgeable and shared insight into life in Sapa. We rented wellies before the tour and this was a good idea. Track is very muddy and slippy but good fun
