Itinerary
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 0700 AM. Then in our private transportation we will embark on a trip to Pisac. On our way we will make a quick stop at a viewpoint in Taray. It offers a stunning view of the valley below. You will be able to see the Urubamba River winding through the towns of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Pisac is home to one of the massive and beautiful Inca sites perched on a hill overlooking the town. We will take you uphill to the main entrance of the complex. Here our local expert will give you a guided tour of the complex. After touring the complex, we will take you to the main square. During the weekends, the narrow cobblestone streets here fill with local people selling their crafts.
Once you have had your fill of Pisac, we will take you to Urubamba. It is the lowest part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Here we will stop for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant.
After tasting a typical meal, we will continue the tour and visit Ollantaytambo. This was the most prominent site during the Inca empire. Here you can witness the advance of Inca urbanism. Ollantaytambo is one of the oldest and most inhabited towns of the Inca empire. The town is sandwiched between two Inca ruins. This is also the place from where you will board the train to Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail.
After touring Ollantaytambo, we will be visiting Maras and Moray. Both sites have played a prominent role and continue to do so even today. Moray is home to circular agricultural terraces that served as an agricultural laboratory for the Incas. Each level has a different temperature. The Incas used this place as an agricultural laboratory to determine the best climatic conditions necessary to grow a crop.
Maras is home to the salt mines. It has been passed down from generation to generation. The locals here continue to practice the traditional method of salt cultivation by solar evaporation. Our local expert will explain it to you in detail.
Completing the full-day tour to the sacred valley, we will be visiting Chinchero. It is the home of Andean textiles. This beautiful and serene town is often overlooked by tourists. It houses a whitewashed church that was once a royal palace of the Inca emperor Pachacutec. Among all the sites in the Sacred Valley, Chinchero has the most fertile soil. During the Inca civilization, under the leadership of Pachacutec, they built many agricultural terraces. The water channels here are a testament to the advancement of Inca engineering.
Later in the evening, we will take you back to the city of Cusco. We will drop you off at Plaza Regocijo, one block from Cusco's main square, Plaza de Armas.

It's a long tour and involved climbing many steps. A slower pace may be necessary for persons with breathing issues
Dear Jean, Thank you for sharing your experience and helpful recommendation. You are absolutely right — some parts of the tour involve walking and climbing steps, so taking a slower pace can be important, especially for travelers adjusting to the altitude or with breathing concerns. Our team always does its best to adapt the pace according to each guest’s comfort level and ensure everyone enjoys the experience safely and comfortably. We truly appreciate your feedback and thank you again for choosing Palomino Tours. We hope to welcome you back to Cusco in the future!
Communication from guide from pre-pick up and throughout tour outstanding. Rick (Richard) is a professional and very passionate about his land's history. We had a jam packed itinerary and he stressed that we stick to the time allocations right from the start. He had us rounded up like sheep in a positive way. Well done Rick 👏 All the sites we saw were most memorable and I took so many photos. Beautiful scenery too. The lunch was also pleasing. I highly recommend this tour and if you can have Rick as your tour guide then how lucky are you.

His professionalism, passion for Peru’s history, and fun, engaging personality truly make every tour special. We’re also glad to know that the communication before and during the tour helped everything run smoothly and that you appreciated the well-organized itinerary — even if Rick kept everyone “rounded up” with a smile! 😊 It’s fantastic that you enjoyed the incredible scenery, the memorable sites, and the lunch as well. Your kind words mean a lot to our entire team, and we’ll be sure to share them with Rick — he’ll be delighted! Thank you again for your recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you back soon for another amazing adventure in Peru!
If you are looking to live Cusco for real, with the heart and soul, Taxis Palomino is the best option you can choose. The service was spectacular from the start. Friendly, attentive, super professional, but above all, human. You can tell they love what they do and they do it with their hearts. Felipe, our guide, also from Cusco, was amazing. Always giving us all the curious facts of Cusco, making us laugh, sharing their culture with us. They speak English and Spanish and language was never a problem for my English boyfriend. We didn't have to worry about anything. Every detail was thought out: if we needed to stop, if we wanted a recommendation, if someone felt bad... there they were, with a smile, with patience and with that typical warmth of Cusco people. What we liked the most was that everything was personalized, adapted to what we wanted to live. No crowded tours or unnecessary expenses. It was authentic, intimate and special.
Estimado Leo y Brisa gracias por confiar en nuestro equipo, les mando un abrazo fuerte a la distancia. 🤗
