We loved Rotorua! We had two tour guides on our trip - Pete and Maryanne. Both were Māori. The stories they told us were amazing. It made the experience so personal. The landscape was spectacular. We loved seeing the mud pools and geysers. We even had a chance to see kiwis - they are sooo cute. We highly recommend this tour.
Hi Lorri, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. We are thrilled you had a great time with our lovely guides and New Zealand's national treasure - the Kiwi bird! The personal touch on our tours is what we're all about, so thank you again for your praise.
Pick up was easy from our Hotel by Zeff, our driver. There were only 5 of us who left Auckland and along the way we were met by another driver who took the 2 of us to Rotorua as Zeff was doing another tour with the remaining 3. Our driver and tour guide to Rotorua was Michelle. Just being the 2 of us on her tour, we got 5 star attention. Michelle has so much knowledge that she shared with us about Rotorua and taking us to many sites. We had an unexpected lunch at Te Puia which was so well catered for and we did the tour of the cultural centre. Such an interesting tour and well organised. A big shout out to the lovely Michelle, she was the best tour leader and the reason why we had such a great day. Would highly recomend anyone to do the tour to Rotorua.
Kia Ora Helen, Thank you for your 5 star review! We are delighted to hear that Michelle was able to share some insider knowledge on our unique culture and was able to take you to many sites. We specialize in smaller group tours of around 12 people or less on all scheduled group tours in order to be able to give our customers the best tailored experience while in comfort. It is also great to hear that you really enjoyed the buffet lunch at Te Puia which is a crowd favorite and the tour of the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute which really showcases the history and culture of the native Māori. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with other travelers and hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in New Zealand.
Had a great experience, driver to Rotorua was from there so he had great stories and history to share. Enjoyed the redwood forest walk & Te Puia.
Great tour and experienced guide. Don't miss this tour!
Excellent, lively and knowledgeable driver cum guide Bunty who not only shared immensely useful Information but kept us entertained through his anecdotes and engaging conversations. Went out of the way to give us unique experience of visiting the swinging bridge and accommodated a request to visit a friend to say hello and yet kept the time. Given the start was very early, he ensured that we have brief stop for coffee and snack before heading out to first of the two engagements for the day. This itself made the visit memorable additional to visit to glow worm caves and visit to Geysers and sumptuous lunch. Overall a fantastic trip…Kudos to FlexiToursNZ who kept their words of keeping the vehicle suited for small group with comfortable seats.
This trip is a fantastic experiance for those who love the wonders of nature. You can see the beautiful geysers, mud pools, hot springs and also kiwi bird. Apart from Te Puia we also saw Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland which was an incredible experiance not only for your eyes but also for your nose :) Worth recommending!
Amazing experience. Both the guides were excellent so friendly kind and informative. A well organised tour.
Beautiful lakes, Geysers, gondola ride Fantastic food Great visit to Maori Arts and crafts museum One needs at least 2 to 3 days to cover several beautiful sites and locations in the city of Rotorua. All 3 guides were simply superb.. Daryl, Hermes and Pete
I had such a wonderful experience on this tour! I’m pretty sure our driver’s name was Brett, and he was awesome. Super attentive, full of great New Zealand facts, and really made the day special. He drove us to the Māori tribe performance and the Redwood Canopy Walk. Even when it started pouring and traffic came to a standstill on the way back, he stayed calm and patient. Drivers like him make all the difference—he truly deserves a raise!
We had a really nice and varied trip from Auckland to Rotorua. The scenery along the way was awesome. Our tour guide Dirk was super friendly and told us lots of interesting things about both Rotorua and New Zealand. Highly recommend!
