Description
Dear Guests, this excursion is designed for travelers who want to visit and explore the vineyards of Rome and its beautiful countryside, and enjoy a delightful wine tasting at two of the most charming local wineries. You will be driven through the captivating Roman countryside and stop in two villages located in the area known as the Roman Castles. So, what is the Castelli Romani or Roman Castles area? The Castelli Romani region refers to the entire geographical area southeast of Rome, around the Colli Albani, made up of a group of villages and towns that are partly in the territory of Latium Vetus, the Ancient Lazio region, surrounded by the Roman countryside. He has extensive knowledge of the area's history and features and can assist you with the local language, offer advice, and provide information about local food, shopping, and more.

Itinerary
It is a beautiful medieval town that overlooks a wonderful lake of volcanic origins and a meeting place of countless people from all over the world, thanks to the presence of the Pontifical Palace. Very charming, very historical, a good place to start a wine tasting experience at the Roman Castles, with a coffee break and a good view.
Travelers can enjoy the view of the lake from Castel Gandolfo. It is one of the two water basins of volcanic origin, a wonderful summer tourist attraction.
It is an excellent and historical winery, is a great place to start the wine-tasting day tour experience, where you will be introduced to the local grapes, their flavour, and the way to taste them. Some snacks, like salami and ham with olive oil bruschetta, will also be served together with the glasses of wine.
This is another beautiful and small medieval village, dating back to the 8th century, located in the Roman Castles countryside. It's a charming town that overlooks a lake formed by an ancient volcano. This town is also famous for strawberries and hosts a well-known festival on the first Sunday of September.
The company has a family tradition that started in the Marche region and continued in the Frascati area when, in 1982, Piero Costantini purchased the vineyards of Bishop Pallotta in Monte Porzio Catone with the goal of making a highly prestigious wine. Today, the company is owned by Lorenzo Costantini, a well-known winemaker who is passionate about Lazio wines. Lorenzo has faith in Frascati and its great potential, believing that the land of the Castelli Romani makes the wines produced in this area unique, and that the climate supports perfect grape ripening. The pedoclimatic conditions are best expressed in the cultivation of the native variety Malvasia Puntinata (or Lazio). The goal is to produce a Frascati with 80% Malvasia del Lazio, creating a wine that is both distinctive and representative of the territory.
The first highway in the world, connecting Rome and Naples, and then extending to the southeast of Italy. Built by the Roman Magistrate Appio Claudio Cieco in 312 B.C., it is now a remarkable archaeological site filled with remains of ancient tombs and aristocratic countryside residences.

It was great to get out of the city to experience some of the Italian countryside. The wine tasting was very pleasant and the hosts explained their businesses and we enjoyed their best wines.

Alessandro was an excellent guide. He picked us up right at our apartment and took us all around the Roman countryside. He was kind, professional, and provided us with many great recommendations in each town we visited. Our trip included Appia Antica, Gandolfo, Nemi, Frascati. We LOVED Cucina Santa Benedetta. Beautiful vineyard!
Our excursion around Castel Gongolfo, lake Albano and Nemi was made more wonderful by the knowledge and company of our guide Angelica! Such a wonderful, casual day! It quickly became more like a walk with a friend! We highly recommend this excursion!

Very informative, good English, he is thoughtful and makes your day very enjoyable. I would never drive in Rome it was so nice to be able to sit back and enjoy the countryside while Alisandro explained everything about the areas. It allowed us to see so much more than if we went on our own. We highly recommend him and his services.
