Description

Begin your experience at Villa Torlonia where, accompanied by an expert and entertaining guide, you will discover this stunning neoclassical complex. Small lakes, exotic plants, columns, obelisks, a tournament area, a medieval village and the Casina delle Civette which plays host to a stained glass museum will be part of your itinerary. Inside the park, you will visit the so-called Casina delle Civette, the residence of Prince Giovanni Torlonia until his death in the 1930s. Today this house is a museum with 20 rooms full of paintings, mosaics, colorful stained glass windows and porches decorated with maiolica. Continue your experience admiring the impressive collection of sculptures kept in the Casino Nobile. End your tour with a stroll through the remarkable Coppedè quarter, an Art Nouveau gem in the heart of Rome designed by the architect Gino Coppedè. See the symbol of this neighbourhood like the lovely Fountain of the Frogs in the famous Piazza Mincio.

This very unique Villa can be found along the outskirts of central Rome. First established in the 1800s, it was once home to a famous banker who, in 1920 rented the location to Benito Mussolini for only the equivalent of €0.16 per year and was used as the State Residence throughout the Second World War.

In the fabulous Torlonia park, owned by the last Roman noble family, there is the small and atypical home, that looks just like out of a fairy tale. It’s a true gem of Art Noveau where decorations and art melt perfectly in a dreamy atmosphere. Named after the many owls created with colorful stained glass windows, it is a true encyclopedia of arts and crafts masterpieces and recalls the last time in the modern era when beauty was at one’s fingertips in everyday life.

60 min

Quartiere Coppedè is truly a unique place and very unlike the rest of Rome. Elegant and well decorated small buildings, mixed with open spaces and narrow roads, a neighbourhood that will impress you.
