This was such a unique tour, Taking you to places you might not realize you need to see! Our guide Paris was amazing! A definite must do
Our guide, Flavia, was fantastic. A clear, entertaining speaker with depth of insight and a unique perspective that brought the sites we were visiting, as well as the whole of Rome, into vivid and colorful perspective. The intense heat was challenging but her energy never flagged, even as she tried to keep us in shady places whenever possible. The air conditioned bus and the naturally cool catacombs also helped. We booked the trip with a primary interest in the aqueducts, but I can’t say which part of the tour was most fascinating—it was all utterly engaging
I had a great time, Julia was lovely and made a great guide. She knows a lot about the history of the area and was able to answer all of our questions. I loved the catacombs, walking (a small part of!) the Appian Way, and the aqueducts. We were able to avoid a lot of the Roman heat and still have a wonderful time. However, I will agree with another reviewer that this listing needs to be updated as the photos are not accurate. We weren't allowed to take photos in the catacombs and some of the photos on this listing were definitely not of places on the tour. It's still a really nice way to go off the beaten path a little bit and the air-conditioned van was a plus.
This was a great tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I loved seeing the Aqueducts and the Appian way. The catacombs was very cool. So many stories and so much history.
Our tour of the catacombs, aqueduct and Apian Way was an amazing experience. Chiara was so informative and knowledgeable. She shared interesting anecdotes that were not only informative, but also entertaining. Chiara really made the tour special and one we will always remember.
We were lucky to have a small group for the tour and we had a great time with our guide Giulia. It was nice to get out of the city for the afternoon! The aqueducts were in a beautiful park and the catacombs were a cool escape.
It was really interesting and informative!! Giulia was very sweet and has a good sense of humor. She was fantastic!!
We had a great time on this trip. The van arrived on time (earlier than some of the late clients!) and was well air-conditioned on a 38 degree day. It was clean and comfortable. Our guide welcomed us personally and her helper found us earpieces, going out of their way as we wear hearing aids. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic even in the heat. She took us to some fantastic places and answered all our questions. Even in the rainstorm she was keen! Loved this trip and glad we got to see the parts of Rome that are swamped by people and buildings. The aqueducts were my favourite!
Interesting, informative and good for history buffs who want something different to add on to the classic tours in Rome
This is an ideal tour to take if you really wanna see everything in Rome during your trip. You have your major sites downtown and this was further into the country. We had a superb pair of tour guides, one for the remnants of the aquaduct and Appian Way and another for inside the Catacomb. They knew EVERYTHING and made it engaging. Seeing the catacombs is certainly the highlight, that was some Indiana Jones stuff being in there and getting a glimpse of Rome that felt almost prehistoric.
