Rome to Pompeii & Naples: High-Speed Train Day Trip with Lunch

Description
Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour exploring the details of this one-of-a-kind ancient city while uncovering moments of terror frozen in time, death postures, and ruins unchanged from almost two millennia ago. Stroll along the ancient streets where perfectly conserved ancient bakeries, shops, stalls, private and communal residences, public baths, and yes, even brothels remain! Upon conclusion of the guided tour in Pompeii, we’ll visit a historic pizzeria serving some of the most authentic pizza Pompei has to offer (and remember, we’re in the birthplace of Italian pizza, so it’s a competitive market)! After lunch, we’ll make the short ride back to the heart of Naples for more exploring. Take in the breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples from Posillipo, where the famous saying “See Naples and die” will suddenly make perfect sense. While Vesuvius looms in the distance, take in one of the most naturally and artistically beautiful cities in the world from a stunning vantage point.

The trip was spectacular. Our guide, Felicia , was outstanding. More than qualified to lead us through the ruins of Pompeii, she gave us the highlights and interesting facts with enthusiasm. The high speed train and motor coach transpiration were awesome. The tour of Pompeii was fantastic. The wine tasting and lunch afterwards was a great experience and pleasantly surprising- exceeding all expectations. I would highly recommend this tour if you have not been to Pompeii previously. It’s a great way to learn about the city and have fun at the same time.
If you could only pick one day trip from Rome (and wanted to see Pompeii), do this one! Being able to do the high speed train for an hour was so much better than 3 hours on a bus. Having all the transfers prearranged made navigation a breeze. Frederica was our guide in Pompeii and she was so knowledgeable, kind, and patient with my two daughters (aged 2.5 and 6). The wine tasting at Bosch di Medici afterwards was such a nice treat and so relaxing after a busy few hours at Pompeii. I will be recommending this tour to anyone I know who comes to Rome.
This tour was fun and just the right amount of time at each sight. Our driver was amazing in the traffic of Naples and our guide was very informative. It was a long day, but the time on the train was relaxing and it was great to see a little of the countryside.
The best way to see both Pompeii and Naples from Rome for the day. They made it all so easy from the minute we got to the train station. Antonio was just best. The lunch spot was just a perfect spot and really good food. If you get Antonio as your guide, you’re going to have an awesome time.
Well organized trip from Rome with excellent guidance getting on the train and back along with A great tour of Pompeii led by “Enzo” Lunch and Wine tasting was a nice break from the walking of the ruins
Our tour guide was the best. She ruined the rest of our trip because all tours after her were disappointing because they didn’t compare to her. She was amazing. The lunch provided was above and beyond and I’m a huge eater. The pace was perfect. This was our favorite tour of our 2 week trip.
Guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. Lunch was really good! Lots of walking but worth it. Well ran tour
This is a great excursion. Our driver, Antonio and guide Ida were the best. very informative and knowledgeable of both areas.
It was great. Company meet us in Rome and helped us get on the train station to Naples. Then our guide meet us there at train station in Naples. Her name was Karli (I think). She was amazing, friendly, and spoke very good English.
Long day but absolutely worth it! The tour guide was amazing and knew so much information! Good information and great food!
