Incredible tour, incredible guide

Frederico gave my family and I an incredible tour of the Basilica. He took his time and made sure every station was well explained. He told the history with great dignity, enthusiasm, and humility. Fred was a fount of knowledge and impressively educated when it came to all things of St. peter’s Basilica. Not only was he an excellent tour guide, Frederico was incredibly efficient getting everyone, even members outside of our group, in line, through security, and into the church. He repeatedly reminded us the gravity and importance of the experience which made it all the more cherishing to my family— something we will never forget. Above all else, he was kind and patient, appreciative that we made the trip and came to see the Basilica. Thank you Freddie— you were a rockstar and we had a great time!!!

Great tour guide and beautiful views!

Our guide, Claudio, was excellent. He cared for us like we were his family. It was a particularly hot day and he went out of his way to keep us in the shade and give us options to stay cool. Please note, your tour ends with the dome climb and your tour guide does not come with you for that. When it's time for the dome climb, you will be given to option to take the elevator to the roof. Waiting for the elevator takes longer and I didn't find the first stair climb too hard. From the rooftop, stairs are the only way to go up to the dome and they can feel tight towards the end. However, this is typical if you go on a dome climb at any cathedral. Altogether it was an interesting tour.

Amazing tour - time of a lifetime

Federico was amazing, very knowledgeable and attentive to needs of the group. Clear that the Vatican is indeed his “second home”.

Not what I expected

I struggled with this event. I assumed we had timed entry tickets similar to every other tour we did. We had to wait in the free line which was very hot and she kept talking about the lines and wait times while we watched others sail thru the “tickets” section of entry to the basilica.. Our tour guide was sweet and kind but very difficult to understand as she had a very thick Eastern European (Russian?) accent and spoke very fast. She also had her microphone on her label for a large part of the time so it made it even more difficult to hear and follow along.

New Experience in Rome

Great experience in Rome! I have been to St. Peter’s several times before but never got tickets for the crypts or dome before so decided to book this and try. Our guide Olga did a good job and the activity matched the description exactly. It’s June in Rome so yes it was quite hot and crowded but that is to be expected. In my opinion not very “Catholic” despite taking place in the heart of the Catholic Church but an overall great experience. The climb was intensive but afforded an amazing view of St. Peter’s square and the city of Rome!

Skip the line tour, NOT!

It was supposed to be a skip the tour. An hour and 20 minutes standing in in 95 degree direct sun exposose sea of humanity later we made it to the metal detectors drenched in perspiration. Did the climb the dome and skipped the rest.

Great tour, very knowledgeable guide

We had a great tour with Volodomir, learning so much about St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City, and the magnificent works of art inside. We were able to see the Pieta sculpture, the tomb of St. Pope JPII as well as St. Peter! Absolutely stunning. Bring sun protection (hat/umbrella/scarf) and water. Due to ever changing rules at the Vatican, we had to wait outside for ~45 min in the sun to get to the dome climb. Several in our tour group opted to leave rather than wait in the line. Our family managed the climb for wonderful views of the inside of the church as well as magnificent views of Vatican City and Rome from the top. As that was the end of the tour, we were then able to wander the church at our leisure and attend Mass.

St. Peter's Basilica, The Vatican Grottoes and St. Peter's Dome

You need to ask for Federico, my husband and I agreed he was one of the best tour guides. He provided so much detail that AI or a recording could never given. He was so professional and enthusiastic. You can tell he really loves Vatican City he is so passionate about the area and knowledgeable about the history. We toured St. Peter's Basilica St. Peter's Basilica is one of the holiest sites in Christianity. Our guide walked us...

Our guide walked us through the relevance of many works of art in the basilica coupled with church history. Olga described what the dome climb involved before wrapping up her time with our group. Would highly recommend this tour if interested in combining art, history, and a bit of adventure.
