The Janiculum Hill is one of the best places in Rome to get a panoramic view of the church domes and bell towers of The Eternal City. In the piazza stands a statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi, one of the central figures in the unification of Italy in the 19th Century.
Tiberina Island is a tiny island located in the southern bend of the Tiber River. Associated with healing since ancient times, the island is still home to one of Rome's hospitals.
One of several triumphal arches in Rome, the Arch of Constantine sits near the Colosseum and can be viewed without an entry fee.
Circus Maximus is an Ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium made famous in the movie "Ben Hur." Situated in the valley between the Aventine and Palatine Hills, it was the first and largest stadium in ancient Rome and its later Empire.
The Domus Augustana was the royal palace of the Emperor Augustus. Set on the Palatine Hill, the emperor could watch the chariot races in the Circus Maximus from his home.
Teatro Marcello is an unusual architectural site in Rome. It was originally an arena in Ancient Rome, built in the later years of the Roman Republic. Fast forward many centuries and dwellings were built on top of the amphitheatre. Today, these apartments are some Rome's most expensive real estate, home to the well-heeled of The Eternal City.
From the back side of the Capitoline Hill, take a trip back in time as you view the fascinating Roman Forum. This public space was the center of civic life in ancient times and contains the ruins of many important structures, including the Rostrum where Marc Antony gave his impassioned speech over the body of assassinated Julius Caesar.
The monument to Victor Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy, is a gigantic monument in white marble, the center-piece of Piazza Venezia. Across the piazza is the balcony from which Mussolini gave his famous speeches during fascist times.
Trevi Fountain is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. The fountain has appeared in several notable films, most notably Federico Fellini's "La Dolce Vita."
A former Roman temple to all the gods, now a Catholic church, the Pantheon is a marvel of Roman engineering. You are sure to be fascinated by the coffered ceiling with is giant oculus (wide enough to lower a double-decker bus through!) KINDLY NOTE: Viewing the Pantheon from the exterior is free. As of July 2023, a ticket is required to visit the interior. The ticket costs 10 euros per person. If you'd like to go inside the Pantheon, you can purchase your ticket on site.
Built on the site of the Stadium of Domitian in the 1st Century AD, this arena was later transformed into a plaza exemplifying Baroque-Roman architecture. It features important sculptural works in its three fountains. The most impressive stands in the center of the piazza: Bernini's beautiful Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers)
At St. Peter's Square, you'll enjoy the expansive piazza lined by Bernini's elegant colonnades and Christendom's largest church. Time permitting, you can enter the basilica (in high season, lines to get through security and proper-apparel screening are usually very long). KINDLY NOTE: The Vatican Museums are not included in this excursion.

This is a shared tour and pick-ups may need to be coordinated between multiple ships. YOU MUST ADVISE US of your ship name, docking time, disembarkation time, and departure time. Your driver will meet you at the ship, holding a sign with your name on it. Do NOT take a shuttle. Call the local emergency number in case of any issues.

- This tour includes a professional English-speaking driver that gives commentaries from the vehicle.
- Due to strict Italian laws that protect licensed guides, drivers can only comment and explain the sights from inside the vehicle, and are not allowed to do so once they are outside the vehicle.
- Please note that if mass is taking place in the Basilica of St. Peters, entrance may be restricted. In high season, lines to enter the basilica can be very long. There is no fee to enter the church but shoulders and knees must be covered.
- MINIMUM NUMBERS apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.
- If you are not ready to depart at the assigned time , we cannot wait for you beyond a reasonable period of time, nor can we promise to fulfill the itinerary, nor promise to extend the duration of the tour.
- Order of stops may vary.
- This is a shared tour and you will be expected to maintain the pace of the group. If you have limited mobility we suggest booking a private tour for your best enjoyment.
- Being a shared tour, it's important to respect the time allotted at each stop by your driver. We kindly ask that you return to the vehicle at the appointed time so that we can stay on schedule.
- Children 0-5 years old must seat properly inside the vehicle. Please specify this detail if you have a child in the group so we can provide for a car seat.

Driver was 30 min late for pick up from the cruise ship. Was just my daughter and I with another family. The family just wanted to eat so didnt see as many sights as we could. Every stop they had to eat so took more time. Driver would drop us off at a corner and tell us to go see stuff. No direction of where to go. Still had to use Google maps and missed stuff like paletine hill because I wasnt told it was in the same area. Would have been nice to have the driver stay with us and tell us historical facts of the area. Would have been nice to have been provided a map so i could have guided us places alone. Very disappointing.
An exceptional tour of the highlights of Rome. Note, we booked a driver not a tour guide. However, our personal driver, Loretta, explained to us the fascinating history of many monuments of Rome. Her professionalism and beautiful personality is truly an awesome combination. Loretta ensured the day was well-structured to give us time to spend at each site, but without wasting time hanging around. We can only describe it as the perfect tour. If you want to see several sites and understand some of the less obvious background knowledge of Rome, Loretta is just the person; she is superb. We were equally impressed with her expert ability to safely and efficiently navigate the busy roads of Rome. We loved every minute of this tour! Loretta, sei semplicemente la migliore. Note: If you want to spend a lot of time at different sites such as queuing and going in the within the internal area of the Colosseum, you will need to be realistic about the time you have available. This tour is ideal for seeing several key sites - 'a taste of Rome'.

Matteo was the best driver and guide for our tour! He picked us up on time from the cruise port and drove us the hour into the city, the whole time educating us about Rome and the surrounding area. He even had lunch recommendations and booked us a table at a great pizza place. Matteo offered us cold water and gave us plenty of free time at many stops to explore on our own. We had an amazing experience with Matteo. He was an excellent guide. On Viator it listed out a different itinerary which I wasn’t thrilled about since it only drove by the Colosseum and didn’t stop at the Spanish Steps. I debated whether to use this company or another but decided to go with this one and talk to the driver. We didn’t even need to bring this up because Matteo was already planning to make the changes we had wanted. Circus Maximus is not really worth stopping at, it is more a drive by attraction too. He knows the city and what he is doing. He even gave dining recommendations and made reservations for us. I highly recommend this company and I hope you get Matteo.

We had a FANTASTIC time in Rome! Our tour guide was Matt from Driver in Rome. BEST tour guide ever! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Rome. We went to the Colosseum, Roman ruins, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and St. Peter’s Basilica. Also treated us to two unscheduled stops at St. Paul & St. Peter’s Basilica and the Spanish Steps. He made lunch reservations at a restaurant for our group of 8. Amazing carbonara! Took us to a local gelato shop…yum! Thanks Matt!!

Matteo is an an amazing, excellent, talented and informative tour guide and driver. He not only met our expectations but overwhelmingly exceeded it. He gave us the opportunity to visit all the main attractions considering the very crowded and busy day in Rome today (5/28/2026). Matteo took us to eat lunch at a restaurant where locals eat; away from the tourists area - Goose Restaurant. The quality of the food was excellent. It was very “Rome”. Matteo was a fantastic guide, we got to see the highlights of Rome! The air conditioned van was a HUGE bonus it was 32 degrees Celsius. We had a fair amount of time to take photos and sight see, if you’re big into shopping there isn’t enough time in this tour.

I had an absolute incredible time! It was well worth the price in my opinion. The length was perfect, if not almost short but we got so much done it’s hard to complain. Matteo was our driver and guide and he was amazing. He answered all our questions and gave us the right amount of info without being overly chatty. I highly suggest!
