We had a great experience with John. He gave extremely clear instructions in English, no one had any questions because he made the journey in very easy! I would highly recommend booking this experience, the normal line to get in was very long and hot.
We arrived on time but the group had left us behind.
The meeting spot is at the back entrance so it was a little farther of a walk to get to but was easy to find. Our guide was very informative and made the experience fun. It is a fairly long tour so just be prepared to walk/stand for 2-3 hours.
I could not believe just how big the Vatican Museum was, they have a huge collection from Ancient Egypt, including a real mummy, countless Roman Statues and Busts and even Items from the Iron Age. The corridors seem longer than most Roads in Britain, and the grandeur is phenomenal! The ceilings in there certainly give the Sistine chapel a run for its money. You could spend days in there, they have a Bar and restaurant. It’s worth going to Rome just for this
Loved the tour guide with inside out. The check in was veryyyy disorganized!! I’m
There are way too many people visiting at one time to make this in any way enjoyable. It’s a bit like IKEA - a massive one way system that you can’t get out of! When you’re approaching the Cistine Chapel you’re herded in like cattle and there just be 500 people all squished in there at one time. Absolutely stunning place, however visiting during the peak months is just not enjoyable.
This is not a reliable booking to make. Just an hour before my scheduled tour the tickets were canceled although I received multiple reminders that my tour was coming up soon. I instead was able to find last minute tickets in person for around 65 Euros to skip the line and not have a guide - which is more expensive thank getting tickets directly from the Vatican museums but cheaper than what Viator was charging.
Worthwhile but pricey. John was very helpful.
It was not a guided tour, only skip the line tickets. Tour guide just came with us till security point and that’s all.
ESL (English as a second language), our guide was full of information, passion and knowledge. Unfortunately this would be lost to the background noise (the ear pieces provided were for one ear only, barely stayed on ear and not great for clear sound). Was challenging to understand or focus on his speaking. Add in ESL and it made for a long and hot (35c) day for a 2.5hr tour. For the price very disappointing.
