Itinerary
The Roman Forum, nestled in the low expanse between the Palatine and Capitoline hills, stands as the paramount forum of ancient Rome, its historical resonance echoing through the annals of time. In the republican era, this hallowed ground bore witness to the pulse of public life—hosting pivotal public meetings, functioning as the backdrop for legal proceedings, and serving as the arena for thrilling gladiatorial contests. The air was filled with the vibrant energy of commerce as the forum's perimeter bustled with shops and open-air markets, creating a dynamic hub at the heart of the city NOT INCLUDED IN THE COLOSSEUM EXPRESS OPTION.
The Arch of Constantine stands as a grand testament to triumph and history, proudly holding the title of the largest among the three triumphal arches that endure in Rome. Soaring approximately 25 meters into the sky, this majestic arch graces the route frequently treaded by triumphant leaders, nestled between the sprawling Circus Maximus and the iconic Arch of Titus.
Embark on a captivating exploration of the past commencing at the Colosseum, a globally renowned landmark. Your guide, armed with profound historical and archaeological knowledge, will unravel the tales of both physical and political conflicts that unfolded within this extraordinary amphitheater. Prepare to be intrigued as you discover nuances missed by Hollywood's portrayal in 'Gladiator,' and marvel at the ancient engineering marvels that facilitated the reenactment of naval battles on this historic stage. The Arena Floor serves as the vibrant canvas upon which the dramatic spectacle of ancient Rome unfolded, where the clash of beasts and gladiators captivated and enthralled the vast crowds. Originally, the arena floor comprised an immense wooden platform, positioned atop the intricate network of masonry corridors that we marvel at today. It's here that the blueprint for our modern arenas was first conceived, laying the foundation for the grand sporting and entertainment venues

Our tour guide Stella was outstanding. She moved us with grace and impeccable timing. Her knowledge of Roman History and Culture was what made the tour so special. Thank you Stella, for an awesome experience. I would do it again in a minute
Giorgio was a great guide! Very knowledgeable and engaging between sharing facts and asking the group questions, which was helpful on a very hot day. We learned a lot of interesting things about Roman and Christian history!
Giorgio brought us on a historic journey through time explaining the significance of different sites spanning the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and the Colosseum. Armed with book of illustrations depicting the scene from the past in comparison with the scene we see in front our eyes today, it made imagining the transformation of the sites more understandable and relatable. The entire tour took approximately 3 hours with sufficient of water/washroom breaks. All in all, the tour was informative and well worth the cost.
Overall, the guided tour was incredibly enriching. It not only deepened my understanding of Roman history but also made the experience far more engaging than exploring on my own.
Our tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum was wonderful. The guide was nice, informative, attentive, and very knowledgeable. She led the tour at a perfect rhythm, making stops in the shade and cooler places to give us a chance to rest, while at the same time sharing interesting stories and historical context. Nothing felt rushed, but we also never got bored. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name. The tour was organized by Towns of Italy and was conducted in Spanish. Based on our experience, I can definitely recommend them.
This tour is worthwhile especially if your guide is Giorgio. It’s more than a 3.5 hour walking tour at the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and Colosseum. He told us so many stories, showed us photos and showed us many interesting corners at the Forum. It was easy to imagine how they lived in the old times. The admission to all the sites were smooth and easy. I highly recommend this tour to first timers in Rome.
Our guide was excellent. We wish we could recall his name but cannot- he was a white male with dark hair, kind of thin - quite knowledgeable but not at all boring. He kept us in the shade when possible and got us water. He was helpful and fun to be with making the hours fly by. The Forums and Colseum came alive thanks to his presentation. And he guided us around and through crowds and check points quickly and with ease . I recommend him and this tour! Ciao.
Quick replies to any questions we had, very easy to find the meet up point too. Damiano was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and funny. We were very happy with the 1 hour express tour
It was a good informative tour.. Guide was nice.. at times difficult to understand though.
The visit was very complete, but the best part was the explanation from our guide Raffaella.
