It was a very long drive from our hotel 2.5-3 hours one way with no traffic. The actual river tubing was fun and the waterfall was cool. We didn’t eat lunch until 230 so everyone was starving. We ended up having to skip sloths because the drive was so long.
What an amazing day spent exploring Costa Rica with Carlos! We had scheduled a nature walk, waterfall hike and tubing down the Rio Celeste. Unfortunately, due to a large storm a few days before we arrived, the roads to get to the waterfall hike were impassable. Carlos quickly pivoted and offered to take us on a coffee and chocolate tour, which we were planning to do later in the week. I was able to cancel the other reservation and the tour he took us on was perfect. The whole day was great, seeing many animals and wildlife, most incredible was a young sloth suspended only about 6 feet off the ground. The river tubing was so much fun and Carlos made extra efforts to get the photos and videos from the tubing guide which we greatly appreciated! Don’t hesitate to book this trip, you won’t regret it!
Andres is the best. He knows his stuff in Costa Rica. We started off with Tubing then he helped fishing experience and then ended up booking a few other excursion like side by side. Andres was very helpful and very easy to deal with. I strongly suggest to contact him he will help you with anything you need.
Michi was our guide; she was very patient, explained everything about the day and gave us additional choices since some of our group wasn’t prepared for a longer hike. Michi is so kind, truly loves what she does and it shows. Jose, our driver got us to each activity safely, secured our things in the van while we did the tours and was overall a pleasure. We were able to do the coffee/chocolate tour, see sloths, a snake and a toucan on hike and ended our day with tubing. So much fun!!
We had a great day with our guide Carlos. He was passionate and knowledgeable about both animals and plant life. He answered all our questions with enthusiasm. The tubing was a highlight on a warm day, great fun for the whole family.
This was a great experience. We were able to travel privately and felt that all our guides were knowledgeable, especially Adam the main tour guide. Highly recommend Blue Moon Tours!
We enjoyed our tour guide Michelle and dive Jose. Felt like we had a personal friend showing us around.
A Must excursion!! W had 5 teenagers plus us parents in our group and we all had a blast. The tour guide, Yulenny was fantastic! Including our driver! Friendly, knowledgeable and catering to us to make sure we had a blast! Highly recommend!! So much fun!!
The Blue zone tour guides were very friendly, conversational and kind. Yorlena was a very nice lady, and translator to communicate from Spanish to English for me and Guillermo was a safe and skilled driver. Yorlena is the best tour guide ever. She is so sweet, kind and patient, helping me take so many beautiful photos. I forgot towels, mosquito repellant and poncho but Yorlena helped me get what I needed before leaving. Thanks a bunch. I highly recommend.
Carlos was a wonderful guide. We drove out to meet him from Hermosa, expected to be about 100 minutes. There was a wreck on Route 1 that stopped the highway entirely. We called and asked if rebooking was an option due to the issue on the highway. They said as long as we were not going to be more than an hour late, no problem or they would have refunded almost all of the money. The nature tour was awesome. We saw multiple types of life: poison dart frogs (up very close, picture quality is National Geographic with an iPhone) a tapir, multiple sloths( one about 3 feet away) toucans, a host of other birds, a couple of snakes, a baby viper and even a tapir from maybe 10 feet away. Our tour guide and the local site guide were so enthusiastic and willing to help with pictures for everything. The hike up to the Celeste Waterfall was worth every moment, easy hike, great views and incredibly scenic. It rained every 15 or so minutes but you are in the rain forest. Poncho not really needed. Lunch was the local fair and all in our group ( my wife, two daughters, 22 and 20 and one of their boyfriends were all thrilled.). The tubing trip through the Celeste River from the same water fall was not just a tube float trip. Class 1-2 rapids and you actually get some excitement. Rope swings, trees loaded with monkeys and the guides were fun. We had some local fruit ( so fresh!) snacks and were on our way to visit a tree. Do not skip the tree part! Some argue it’s 1,000 years old and others argue more. It’s humbling and amazing at the same time. Perfectly safe to do the drive on your own but take a 4wd if coming from the coast. Thank you Carlos!!!
