La Fortuna ATV Adventure with Mud Mask and Arenal Volcano Views

Description
Get ready for 2 hours tour of pure adventure and adrenaline! Our experience begins at the private farm La Naciente, just minutes from La Fortuna downtown. We start by riding through muddy trails, crossing small rivers and streams, and driving through natural puddles—all surrounded by beautiful rainforest. The terrain is fun and a bit challenging, with bumps, mud, and uneven paths that make the ride exciting. Before starting, we give a clear safety briefing and do a short practice ride to make sure everyone feels comfortable with the ATVs. Then, we continue onto the main trails of La Naciente, where you’ll enjoy more mud, twists, and adventurous sections while riding through nature. Next, we visit the small village of La Guaria, where you can see local life, the church, and a traditional store (pulpería). We then continue along open trails until we reach the Arenal River(depending on weather conditions), where we stop to take photos, enjoy the view, and have a fresh fruit snack.

Our driver was super nice and always made sure everyone was together before moving on. It was our first time in Costa Rica, and we absolutely loved it! The tour was well organized, and thanks to our driver, we had an amazing experience. We would definitely come back!
This was an adventurous excursion and they were very patient with our family who are not seasoned ATV drivers.
Hello! Thank you for your review! We're so glad you had an adventurous experience with us. Our guides always strive to make everyone feel comfortable and safe, no matter their experience level. It was a pleasure having your family with us, and we hope to see you again for another adventure!
Length of tour was shorter than advertised. Tour was advertised as about 3 hours. Our reservation was for 3pm and we finished the tour at 4:30pm.
Thank you for your feedback. As described on the activity profile, the tour is advertised as 3 hours, including transportation, as the booking platform requires us to configure the duration this way. The transportation usually takes around 30 minutes for pick-up (depending on the location of the accommodation) and 30 minutes for drop-off. The ATV ride itself covers a 13.5 km route, including stops at the viewpoint (on clear days), the Arenal River, a fresh fruit break, and the volcanic mud area. The ATV portion of the experience lasts approximately 2 hours, for a total of 3 hours including transportation. For guests who arrive directly at our property and do not require transportation, the experience on the farm remains approximately 2 hours. According to our guide, the 3:00 p.m. tour on the day of your visit was completed as normal, and the expected tour time was fulfilled. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope this helps clarify the advertised duration.
Fantastic guide and experience. The whole group had fun. We are not the most adventurous people, but 16 year old and two adults were able drive atv in the rain while being safe!
Thank you! We're so glad you all had a great time. Rain only adds to the adventure! 😊 We appreciate your kind words and hope to see you again soon.
Easy check-in, clear guide, and a wonderful experience riding on a scenic route! Kid-friendly - 14 yo can ride solo.
Hello! Thank you so much for your review! We appreciate it very much!
The guides were great - very patient with all of us and especially helpful when I fell (twice! - both my fault) and needed to finish the ride on the back of our leader’s ATV. Communication before the ride in regards to where we would meet up was also very clear and helpful. Would recommend Original Arenal ATV to all looking for an adventure.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're glad you had a great adventure and that our team was there to help when you needed it. We're also happy the meeting instructions were clear. Thanks for recommending us—we'd love to welcome you back anytime!
The tour was a lot of fun and a highlight of our trip to La Fortuna. Our guide was helpful and kind. Safety first. There had been a lot of rain so the tour had to be cut short due to the river not being passable due to the heavy rains. The only reason i gave 4 stars is because the helmets smelled really bad.
Thank you for your feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour and felt safe with our guide. We appreciate you letting us know about the helmets, and we'll definitely take care of that. Hope to see you again for the full adventure!
Wonderful! Driving through lush mountains, mud and puddles , soaking in the river. Delicious pineapple snacks !

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're so happy you had a fun experience and enjoyed the views. It was a pleasure having you, and we're glad you liked the fresh pineapple and water. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
After we found this place, because Waze puts it on the wrong side of the road, and a van was parked in front of the sign, we finally got to ride some ATVs. The first part is a lot of fun splashing through the mud and streams. Then we got on a paved road and rode for miles before the road turned to gravel ending at a small (at this time of the year) river. There were snacks at the river, then we rode many miles back down the gravel and paved road. I drive on paved roads everyday at home so this part was very boring. Finally we returned to the mud and had a lot more fun before stopping at the facial mud supply. We applied mud to our faces, some people applied it to arms and legs as well. Then we splashed through more fun mud and water until we were back to the start. If you don't like bumpy muddy riding, your are in luck, as at least 2/3 of this trip is on a road. Not really what I expected. The equipment is getting old too. Out of the 8 riders, 2 of the ATVs wouldn't start, but the mechanic brought 2 more running units out to those riders. For some reason, they told us to put it in 3rd gear and leave it there. But since I have several years riding motorcycles, I just put it in the best gear for the terrain. If I visited again, I would look for a place with more to see than a paved road
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the muddy sections of the tour, the river stop, and the volcanic mud experience. We understand that the route may not have fully matched your expectations regarding the amount of off-road riding. Our tour combines paved roads, gravel paths, and muddy trails to provide access to different landscapes and viewpoints around La Fortuna while prioritizing safety and complying with local regulations. Regarding the ATVs, we perform regular maintenance on all our units, and in the event of any unexpected mechanical issue, our team is prepared to provide immediate assistance, as happened during your tour to minimize disruptions to the experience. We appreciate your comments, as they help us continue improving and provide future guests with a clearer understanding of what to expect from the adventure. Thank you again for joining us, and we wish you all the best on your future travels.
