They are a FRAUD; after paying, they notify you that if you want the full tour, you have to pay even more (an additional €180). If you tell them no, a few hours before they notify you that they don't have a guide!
Thank you for sharing your opinion. However, we would like to clarify the situation for future guests who may read this review. Yes, we cancelled the tour one day before the scheduled excursion. Your tour was planned for the morning, and we informed you of the cancellation at around 6:00 PM the evening before. We immediately apologised and issued a full and instant refund of €369. The reason for the cancellation was our guide’s sudden illness. He was feeling unwell and, until that afternoon, genuinely did not know whether he would be able to conduct the tour the following morning. As soon as it became clear that he could not, we spent several hours outside our normal working hours trying to find another Spanish-speaking guide who could replace him at such short notice. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a suitable replacement. Regarding the alleged €180 additional payment, this is simply a misunderstanding. We would never ask a guest to pay an additional €180 in order to receive the tour they had already booked. We have no idea where this amount came from. There was indeed considerable confusion in the communication with the travel company Milvus Travel. From the moment we received their first email until the reservation was finalised, the tour details were spread across different emails and chats. We were repeatedly trying to establish whether you required a 2-, 3-, or 4-hour tour and whether the tour was scheduled for August 8, 9, or 10. Nevertheless, once we learned that our guide was ill, we did everything possible to find a replacement. We are genuinely sorry that we were unable to provide the tour and understand that this was disappointing. However, we believe that cancelling due to a guide’s unexpected illness, informing you as soon as possible, apologising, and returning 100% of the payment immediately is very different from deliberately cancelling a tour to demand additional money. We were particularly disappointed by the subsequent messages containing insults and accusations that we had ruined not only your day and your cruise, but your entire trip and life. We understand frustration, but such dramatization unfortunately does not help to resolve a difficult situation. For anyone considering our services, we invite you to look at our other reviews, as well as our reviews on GetYourGuide, where our tours have received many excellent ratings from guests. We value our customers and our reputation, and we do not ask guests for unexpected additional payments after booking. Once again, we apologise that we were unable to provide your tour due to our guide’s sudden illness, and we sincerely regret the inconvenience caused.
Valentina was a great guide; bursting with knowledge and enthusiasm for her city and excellent English made this a memorable experience which really added to our enjoyment of our stay in Riga
Request Valentina as your guide, she was amazing! My mom and I enjoyed our time with her and wish we could have spent more time. She is very knowledgeable and friendly.
A great way to see and learn about the city. A private tour also makes it less hustle bustle and a great pace. Getting stories about the sites adds to the whole experience.
This is a great short introductory walking tour of the key sites/sights in Riga. Met at hotel by delightful guide Valentina, who was both personable and very knowledgable of the history, culture and current affairs of Riga and Latvia. Blessed with a dry, sunny day, this was a nicely paced introduction tour from which to base your future time and visits in the old town of Riga. Highly recommend this tour and Valentina.
This was a case of the guide turning a run-of-the mill tour into something more. Valentina's knowledge (and love) of the city made this tour great. It was a great introduction to the city and the country for our first full day in Riga. We paired it with the Art Nouveau tour and were lucky enough to have Valentina for both. She gave us two hours on hour own for lunch then met us again for the second tour. It was a great day in Riga topped off with an evening at the Christmas Market.
Lovely walking tour of the City highlighting the architecture of the buildings and key points of interests with historic context. The tour was 2 hours and did not include the Cental Market as advertised.
a very thorough introduction to the sights of Riga, Their historical and cultural significance. Quite was very knowledgeable and also able to communicate this.
Riga is a beautiful city. We had no idea how much there is to see and how much lovely architecture exists in such a compact area in an around the old city. Our guide did exactly what we were hoping for. Not only did she acclimate us to the city itself, but she gave us a general history and a wonderful appreciation for the city's many charms.
Nelly our guide, picked us up from our hotel and we had a most enjoyable and informative 2 hour stroll of the Old City. She explained everything in detail, answered all questions and generally looked after us like an old friend showing us around her town.
