The only "bad" thing on this tour is the fermented shark but hey, its an adventure and what does not kill you makes you stronger and cooler back home. One of the best things about doing a food tour is getting a sense of the history of the country while eating something delicious & interesting. All of our guides are experts and graduates from the tour guide school of Iceland but more importantly, they know how to entertain and educate at the same time. Our stops are handpicked and offer traditional Icelandic food and ending at our last stop you are served a drink of choice! Make sure you arrive hungry! Itinerary
We meet up at Ingolfur Square to start our foodie adventure. Please be at the square 5 minutes before the start of your tour.
We start off down by the old Reykjavik harbor with a great appetizer: An Icelandic shellfish soup. You really should try out Icelandic seafood while in Iceland.
If you are so lucky to be walking with us during the day at weekends we add a fun stroll through the authentic small food market inside the Reykjavik Flea Market. There we discover all kinds of very traditional Icelandic Foods together. Keep in mind the Reykjavik Flea Market is only open Saturday's and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm.
No Reykjavik Food Tour is complete without the Icelandic Lamb hot dog. But you must go to this food stall as it's the original one from 1937.
The Icelandic lamb soup is like Iceland in a bowl. Here we get the chance to sample this delicacy along with more traditional foods.
We stop at a local delicacy store and check out some unique Icelandic foods, snacks, and candy.

Good tour! It was fun to get a little more information about Iceland from our local guide Stefan. He was funny and relaxed. Great for our group of family traveling together.
The guide was lively and informative but the tour and food were meh and it is seriously over priced for the content. Three stops with small amounts of inexpensive food - two small pieces of toast with smoked salmon or duck, a tiny bowl of beef soup and a tiny bowl of fish and potato stew for close to $150. Add one stop at a store that has free tasting of candy and jam for everybody. It also included only well known tourist spots. It was disappointing not to go off the beaten track a bit. I’d say keep looking for a more interesting and better value tour.
The most memorable part was the tour guides extra knowledge he is very intelligent and the tour was so much fun! I was in a wheelchair and he was so accommodating and this tour is accessible friendly. Palli was amazing and HILARIOUS. We were laughing so much and he has an amazing smile that made our tour so fun we made great friends along the way. The length was perfect, great amount of time to digest in between and it’s also kind of like a tour of Reykjavík.

Easy walk to multiple locations with different foods. Our guide, Einar was knowledgeable about food and culture and combined the two nicely.
Wonderful guide, Arni, unhurriedly led us to some of the most amazing culinary experiences of our lives. Not one average stop along the way! Patient, funny and engaged, answered every question, helped others on the way.

Einar Steinn was our guide and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect guide for our wonderful food tour. We went to several places that we wouldn’t have discovered ourselves. We tried street food as well as dishes at restaurants. Everything was delicious! He took pictures for us which provided us great memories afterwards. We were fortunate enough to have him to ourselves as we were the only guests on his tour, and we peppered him with questions. He was happy sharing his views on Icelandic music, language and culture with us.
