Itinerary
Rainbow Row refers to the row of pastel-colored historic homes located on East Bay Street, just along the Battery. As one of Charleston’s most iconic sites, you can visit this area on any given day and see couples getting their photos taken for engagements or weddings, along with a drove of tourists trying to get a good photograph of the stunning houses.
Dating to the late 18th Century, the Charleston City Market is a National Historic Landmark spanning four city blocks. Home to more than 300 daily vendors, this is one of the nation's oldest and largest public markets.
Fort Sumter is a sea fort built on an artificial island protecting Charleston, South Carolina from naval invasion. Its origin dates to the War of 1812 when the British invaded Washington by sea. It was still incomplete in 1861 when the Battle of Fort Sumter began the American Civil War. We will look from the sea wall, but not visit the fort as it sits int he middle of Charleston Harbor
The current structure was once part of a complex of buildings known as Ryan's Mart. The complex had a brick wall enclosed yard, a four-story building that contained a "barracoon" or slave jail, a kitchen and a morgue. We will visit and tell stories about the mart but not enter.
Circular Congregational Church of Charleston, SC was founded in 1681 and is one of the oldest continuously worshipping congregations in the South. We will walk past, but not enter.
Located in the heart of Charleston’s historic district, this prominent landmark provides a spectacular view of Fort Sumter and Charleston Harbor, where the Ashley and Cooper rivers empty into the Atlantic Ocean. It was first used as a public garden in 1837. With the outbreak of the Civil War, it became a fortification for the city.

What a fantastic serendipitous evening: we booked last minute (only about an hour and a half ahead of time when our booking for a different tour fell through)… When we arrived at the meeting point, we found out that even though the booking was last minute and we were the only two people, Paul had nonetheless rushed down to meet us in order to give the tour. Paul wad engaging, witty, an excellent storyteller, and all-around exceptional ambassador for the culture, history, and quirky stories of Charleston (we even spent the evening competing to see who could work in the most groan worthy puns into the conversation). Would highly recommend.
We are so glad to hear it and we will be sure to pass along to Paul! Thank you for walking with us on your vacation!
We had a wonderful tour with Bree! She had many interesting stories that were indeed scary and fun. One note - even if the tour ticket says 80 Broad - you need to meet your guide in the park next door.
We are glad to hear you enjoyed your walk! We will make a note of the directions, as well!
Loots (sp?) did a great job. He was funny and kept things moving.
We will be sure to let Lutz know! Thank you for taking the time to review us but more importantly thanks for taking a walk with us!
It was just me and my sister on the tour due to a storm that scared off everyone else. Nonetheless our tour guide John made the experience fun and memorable. John knew so much about Charleston’s history and we enjoyed the way he told the spooky ghost stories! Highly recommend!
Fantastic to hear! And yes, John is the best out there! Thank you for walking with us!
We had a wonderful time - our tour guide Lutz was very knowledgeable of Charleston history and made it a great experience!
We are glad to hear you enjoyed you walk!
Our tour was very fun and informative. Brie did amazingly tailoring the experience to our family and generously answering all of the questions of our inquisitive kids.

We had an engaging evening. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the city. His family history and first hand experiences gave our tour a special touch. John was attentive, had a great sense of humor, and made us all feel welcome. We loved our Revolutionary Charleston ghost tour.
Woohoo! Always nice to read a review like this one! We are glad to hear you enjoyed walking with us!
This was my first ghost tour and it was amazing. I was worried it might be cheesy, but it was not. Brie was our tour guide, and she was fantastic! She gave us all the history, stories, and secrets of Charleston. She’s a fantastic story teller and kept us mesmerized the entire time. HIGHLY recommend!!
We agree! Thank you for walking with us!
We had so much fun on our ghost tour led by Sarah. The time flew by and I could have easily enjoyed another hour and a 1/2. I was yearning for more stories based on Sarah's humor and enthusiasm. We learned a lot & smiled and laughed along the way. Great job Sarah!
Tremendous to hear! Thank you for walking with us!
Definitely had some creepy stories, most were completely new to us. We had heard one at an earlier event. The last story was the creepiest and made me glad it wasn't yet dark when we did it.
Love it, we are so glad to hear it!
