Itinerary
Visitors tour an interactive exhibit featuring the story of real-life pirate "Black Sam" Bellamy and his fabled beloved Maria Hallett. Visitors will be able to see and touch real pirate treasure from the wreck of Bellamy's ship, the Whydah Gally. The Whydah was a slave ship-turned pirate ship which wrecked off of the Cape Cod coastline in 1717 following a violent storm. Artifacts and real treasure have been pulled from the bottom of the ocean...surrounded by sharks...following the discovery of the ship's bell in 1984 by famed underwater explorer Barry Clifford. The exhibit renews regularly with the discovery of new artifacts by onsite archaeologists which visitors can witness with their own eyes. A video, photo experience and retail gift shop round out the visit. Groups are welcome.

It was a fun experience to see the cool pirate stuff from on old ship and the pirate character was on spot!
This place was absolutely amazing! Captain Johnny Depths was fantastic—you can tell he genuinely loves what he does and is incredibly knowledgeable. The exhibits were fascinating, and seeing authentic pirate artifacts and real pirate treasure was such a unique experience. If you're visiting the area, this is definitely a must-see attraction. Highly recommend—10/10! 🏴☠️✨
Aww, that is so nice to hear. Thank you so much for this feedback! And we will also pass the comments about Capt'n Johnny to him as well. He will love to see this! Thanks again!
We found this to be a fascinating museum. It's specific to one ship wreck and the associated captain and crew, but very detailed. There are numerous actual artifacts that were recovered and well as some cast replicas. You got to learn about the various crew mates, life on the ocean in general, a pirate's way of life, etc. as you went through. At the end you get a satisfying update on how each of the pirates fared after this particular excursion. Highly recommend a visit.
So nice to read this -thank you so much for visiting with us!
Take your time to read and see all of the displays. Gives you a better understanding of the pirate life
Thank you so much for stopping in to see us! It truly is an amazing take on history. Thanks again!
We took our 7-year-old son here for an educational outing, and he thoroughly enjoyed himself, asking numerous questions. Despite its small size, the museum is suitable for both adults and children. We were captivated by the pictures and artifacts which then prompted some good discussions!
That's wonderful! Thank you for your review - we appreciate the feedback -
Great orientation built into first entering the exhibit area. The exhibits themselves were informative and well labeled. There is one interactive exhibit for tying knots that was fun to try out. Part of the museum is built like a ship you walkthrough which is pretty cool. It took us about 2 hours to walk through the museum as adults reading everything.
Terrific! So glad you could take your time to go through the museum. We are always interested to know what people are experiencing and we are working now on new items for folks to see. Thanks again for the feedback!
Well done exhibits with nice displays and historical references. Nice to learn about continuous efforts to retrieve more artifacts.
Thank you for your review, Jim! We hope you will visit in the future- Appreciate the feedback-
I spent way way too much time in there by myself. I’m a museum curator and I was so impressed by how much care was put into displaying the story historically and accurately and the detail provided in the exhibits themselves. I am so impressed and I now want to learn EVERYTHING about pirates. Definitely worth the money. Cap’n Johnny Depths was also a blast, very good at his job.
Thank you Mary! So appreciative of your feedback!
This is a gem of a museum even if you aren't into pirates. Interesting exhibits with real pirate treasure. We had a great time checking out the things they recovered from the ocean floor.
Terrific to hear! Many thanks for the wonderful feedback!
Great information about real pirates. They have a lot of knowledge and history. Loved the entire place. Would definitely recommend!
