Real Hauntings of Charleston! (Small Group Ghost Tour)

Description
Many Charleston Ghost Tours have big groups of 25+ - NOT HERE!! We limit our tour sizes to about 12 to keep them fun! Charleston is one of the most charming and colorful cities in the world; however, when the light fades and shadows grow long, a darker side of the Holy City emerges. Over the course of just over 1 mile long, our 90 min walk will pass haunted graveyards, churches, alleyways, hotels, restaurants, and bars. You will hear the real and terrifying stories of ghostly brides, murders, pirates, soldiers, executions, duels, and so much more! As the night falls over the streets of Charleston, we start by the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon and walk through the historic streets where you will hear about real, and active spirits from Charlestons 350 year history like pirates whose lives were cut short at the end of a noose, a young lady who wonders down a particular alley, and a doctor who walks throughout the Holy City. Come Hear It All!

More than one spirit resides in this Charleston favorite, however one four legged furry spirit still likes showing up from time to time.
A spirit wonders through this haunted alleyway waiting and searching for her soulmate to return to her.
The churchyard at St. Philips is the setting for several haunted tales and the spirits who still wonder.
If you listen carefully, on a quiet night you may just hear the whistle of a doctor who met his fate on the wrong side of a duel.

Our tour guide, Vannah, was incredibly fun and knowledgeable. She'd researched the stories to be able to link more information and made it very interactive. No offense to the other guides, but we will he request Vannah on our next tour too...
We had a great experience and a great guide Brandon. Brandon got everyone involved during the whole tour and was a great story teller. We even got to try out some new things with our group. I will definitely be going on the tour again next time I’m in town, I didn’t want it to end!
We had such a wonderful time on our tour with Brandon! Like many of the previous reviews stated he was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and kind. He took the time to answer questions and make the stories interactive. I also appreciated his reverence and care for the group. He checked in to make sure the content was suitable for everyone, cautioned us on the treacherous side walk and asked if he could tell a few more stories when we were over time. Brandon not only cares about the complicated history of Charleston but for the enjoyment of the group. Do not miss out on the opportunity to take a tour with him!
We had such a good tour with Brandon in June of 2026. He was very funny, invested in the stories he shared, and even shared new stories and extended the tour in order to do so. His knowledge of Charleston and the history behind it was outstanding. This tour is the best bang for your buck.
At the very end of our tour, we had a strange experience. As I was going by the bank shoot, that sends the money to back to the bank, the vacuum went off. Everyone had just walked away as we were at the end of our tour. We had stayed behind to take a few more pictures of the graveyard at the church. Our guide was not very far away and had seen what happened. We tried several times to make this happen again, and it did not. It was a little strange that it happened when I went by, as I am the only one in our small group that believed in ghost. Our God said things like this happen all the time.
Brandon was a fantastic host! The price for the value of the experience was unbeatable, and for 2 hours it was worth it. We went at 9pm, but it was still pretty hot outside. I recommend bringing a water and wearing comfy clothes, but Brandon did take us inside at one point to cool off which was much appreciated. Our group was small (9 total) which allowed us to really engage in the experience. If you’re in Charleston, this tour is a must. Deep in history and excellent story telling!
Brandon was great! So kind & very knowledgeable, took his time, didnt rush along. We did the 9pm tour and he even went a little over the hour and a half but asked everyone if it was ok first. Traveled with 6 family members, it was such a fun addition to our weekend!
Brandon was an excellent guide! Fun and spooky tour with a lot of history about the area. Brandon took his time as well, I definitely felt we got our money's worth! Highly recommend!
Our guide Vannah was amazing! She was super knowledgeable and funny. We really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend!
We were disappointed that we couldn’t get into the Exchange building or the cemeteries. What we were told could have been done in a classroom setting, Nick was very knowledgeable about the subject matter, but his presentation was boring.
Hi, future readers of this review: please note that the City of Charleston does not allow tours to enter graveyards or residential areas after 6 p.m. This is why we do not advertise that we go into graveyards and we tell stories outside of them. The guides leading your tour are professional, knowledgeable local historians. Unlike most other companies, we do not give them scripts. They have all conducted their own exhaustive research into the stories they tell and can prove everything they say. We can't wait for you to join us and enjoy a fun haunted evening exploring the real haunting of Charleston.
