Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the National Museum of Qatar draws inspiration from and recreates the naturally occurring crystal formations known as the desert rose. Built around Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al-Thani’s original palace, the seat of government for 25 years, the National Museum of Qatar gives voice to Qatar’s heritage whilst celebrating its future. It spans a whopping 430,500 square feet. A vibrant and immersive space that invites all visitors to explore Qatar's rich heritage and culture.
On a purpose-built island abutting the Corniche, Doha’s waterfront promenade, the building itself is an architectural wonder designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect I.M. Pei. The museum contains four floors of permanent and temporary exhibitions, gift shop, a café and a haute cuisine restaurant IDAM by renowned chef Alain Ducasse, on the fifth floor. It is also home to a heritage library, with a collection of 21,000 books including 2000 rare editions in both Arabic and English.
The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum is one of the world’s most innovative sports museum. With the tool of captivating storytelling, 3-2-1 sheds light on the evolution of sports and Qatar’s passion for it. The museum brims with interactive exhibits, inspiring artefacts, and purpose-built activity areas for diverse audiences. 3-2-1 delves into the value and positive impact of sports, its origins, development, and culture in Qatar and beyond. Aspiring to be the epicentre of global sports heritage and knowledge, 3-2-1 also promotes and facilitates academic research. It is a member of the Olympic Museum Network, which currently includes 22 Olympic museums worldwide.

Wonderful experience; the children expressed they were pleased with the museum sires; so also pearl island and the Katara visited
Driver Zauraiz showed up online despite short notice , in large comfortable air conditioned suv. He first took us to National Museum aka Desert Rose. Going beyond call of duty he was the defacto museum guide and explained everything with full knowledge. He knew the sequences well so we wasted no time. Next the Islamic Art Museum of solid contents.After 4 plus hours of intense absorbing new knowledges we asked to substitute a walk in Souq Market because my shoes coming undone!Zauraiz took me to a shoes place there and make sure the one I picked was good quality. Again really above and beyond. Then we saw bird market etc and gladly gave up third museum on the list! 5 stars from us👍
